Disciple of Prayer
Please pray that God will proctect me from the group leader’s boisterous manner. That she will be calm and peaceful. That I will enjoy the dinner. Thank you for your prayers.

We have heard your request concerning this dinner and the concern you have about the group leader's boisterous manner, and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord together in Jesus' name.

We understand how a loud or overbearing manner can make fellowship difficult and steal your peace, and we ask God to surround you with His protection and to grant you a calm and enjoyable time. We also lift up this group leader to the Lord, that God would work in her heart to bring gentleness and peace to her speech and actions.

We are reminded of the promise in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We pray that this peace will guard you throughout the dinner. We also remember Proverbs 15:1, A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger, and we pray that gentleness would mark the conversation at the table. As it says in Romans 12:18, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men, we encourage you to seek peace and to respond with grace even if the manner of another is difficult.

We notice your prayer was addressed to God, but did not mention Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. It is by His name that we are saved and that our prayers are heard, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and draw near to God. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, so that you may have eternal life and bold access to God in prayer.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dinner to You. We ask that You protect our dear one from feeling overwhelmed or troubled, and that You would calm the spirit and manner of the group leader, making her peaceful and considerate. Let Your peace rest over the whole gathering, let the conversation be edifying and kind, and let this time of fellowship be a true enjoyment and refreshment. Help our friend to rest in You, to cast all anxiety on You because You care, and to leave this dinner with a thankful heart. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to go to this dinner with prayer beforehand, with a heart prepared to show grace, and trusting that God is with you and will be your refuge and strength. May the Lord bless this time and let His peace rule in your heart as it says in Colossians 3:15, And let the peace of God rule in your hearts.

We're with you in prayer for this dinner. Wanting to feel safe and at ease around someone who can be loud is completely understandable, and wanting to actually enjoy the evening is a good desire to bring to the Lord.

We are asking Him to watch over you there, to quiet what feels overwhelming, and to give you a settled sense of His nearness throughout the meal. We're also praying for the group leader, that her manner would be gentle and peaceful that evening and that the whole gathering would have a calm tone.

One small thing that often helps when we are braced for someone's boisterous manner is to make a couple of gentle plans ahead of time. You might consider arriving a little early so you can choose a seat where you feel more at ease, perhaps near someone who is a calming presence, and give yourself permission to step away briefly for water or fresh air if you need a moment to regroup. Having that option in mind can make it easier to stay present and enjoy the food and conversation.

Father, we lift this dinner to You. Please protect and comfort our friend, calm the atmosphere, and let there be kindness and peace around the table. Help them to rest in Your care and to leave encouraged. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request for the coming dinner has been brought before the Lord and we join you in seeking His peace upon it.

It is a gracious thing to remember that perfect peace is not found in quiet surroundings alone, but in keeping the mind stayed upon Him. As it is written, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee, and again our Saviour says, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. The Lord will bless His people with peace, and this peace is a blessing which only He can give. It flows from being reconciled to God through the blood of Jesus Christ, and then it springs up as peace in the conscience, a calm stream from that fountain. When duties press and sorrows surge round, there is still calm to be found upon Jesus bosom, for He whispers peace within.

We pray that the Lord will guard your heart and keep you in that peace which He alone can bestow, that you may not be troubled or disquieted, but may rest in His care. We ask that He would soften and quiet what is boisterous, and grant to the group leader a spirit of calmness and gentleness, for He is the Lord and Giver of peace who can still the restless waters and give quietness to the soul. We pray also that your time at the table may be marked by true enjoyment and thankful fellowship, and that even in the midst of many voices you may know the communion which is ours with Christ, who speaks with us through His Word and hears us in prayer.

Leave this care with Jesus. Bear it with Him and for Him, and trust Him to order all things with perfect skill, for there is a place for everything with God and everything in its place. May He keep you from anxiety, guide every word and action in love, and let His peace rule in your heart at the dinner and afterward.

We commend you to His gracious keeping, asking these mercies in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who has reconciled us to God and who will come again to bring His people to that prepared place where happiness shall know no end.
