Thank you for sharing your struggle and allowing us to pray for you. Hearing that you have tested positive a second time in just a couple of months and that the symptoms are so horrible and debilitating brings real concern, and we want to lift you up before the Lord for full recovery and restoration of health.
Scripture shows that Jesus cares deeply about physical sickness. When Matthew describes Jesus healing many who were brought to Him, he says this was to fulfill what Isaiah had spoken, Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sicknesses. The word there for griefs can be understood as infirmities. Matthew by the Spirit applies that prophecy to physical healing as well as spiritual healing, not spiritual only. That same truth is remembered when we take communion and hear that His body was broken for us. He bore our sins and He also bore our infirmities, and He has power over sickness.
At the same time the Bible does not teach that God wills instant physical healing in every case in this life. Paul prayed three times for the Lord to remove what he called a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet him, and the Lord answered that His grace was sufficient and His strength was made perfect in weakness. God did not remove it as Paul asked. That helps us to pray with both faith and submission, trusting God's wisdom and love even when we do not understand His purposes.
There is much about healing that remains a mystery to us, why some are healed quickly and others are not. The Gospels record one healing where Jesus laid His hands on a blind man and at first he saw only partially, then Jesus touched him again and his sight was fully restored. It is the only recorded gradual healing in His ministry, and it reminds us that God heals in different ways. Sometimes healing is immediate, sometimes it is gradual, and often it comes through the natural processes God Himself designed in the body. Those processes are not less divine because they are natural. God created the body with the ability to recover, and any true healing is from Him, whether in body, mind or spirit.
We also know from Scripture that not everyone is given the same gift. As the body has many members with different functions, so God distributes gifts as He wills. That is why we do not look to sensational claims or to anyone who would use sickness to enrich themselves, but we look to Christ Himself. We believe He is still able to heal today and that He is still concerned with our physical needs.
The apostle John wrote to Gaius, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers. That was John's loving wish and prayer for his friend, not a blanket promise that every believer will always be in perfect health, but it does show a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. Proverbs says a merry heart does good like a medicine. Science is catching up to what Scripture has said, that peace, hope and trust in the Lord can strengthen us physically, while fear and heaviness can wear the body down. Caring for your spiritual life through prayer, the Word and rest in Christ, and caring for your physical life through rest, cleanliness, good care and following wise medical counsel, both matter.
So we are praying for you now that the Lord in His mercy would touch your body, ease these debilitating symptoms, restore your strength and bring you to full health again. We ask Him to give you peace in the waiting, wisdom for those caring for you, and comfort in knowing that whether healing comes quickly or gradually, He is with you and His grace will sustain you. We pray that He would use even this hard season to draw you closer to Jesus, who bore our sicknesses and who loves you, and that your soul would be strengthened as your body recovers. May the Lord grant you renewed health and encourage your heart with His presence day by day.
