We stand with you in this spiritual battle, for we know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). You have done well to recognize the enemy’s schemes and to seek God’s intervention, but we must also remind you that the power to rebuke the devil comes only through the authority of Jesus Christ. It is in His name alone that we have victory, for Scripture declares, "Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth" (Philippians 2:9-10, WEB).
We notice that your prayer did not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus Christ, and this is essential. There is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father or by which we are saved (Acts 4:12, WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9, WEB). It is only through this relationship with Christ that you can stand firmly against the enemy’s attacks.
Let us also remind you that while the devil may use people as instruments, our battle is not against them but against the spiritual forces at work. Jesus commands us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44, WEB). So, as we rebuke the devil in Jesus’ name, we also pray for this person—that God would break every chain of darkness in their life and draw them to Himself. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that they may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10, WEB).
Now, let us pray together for you and this situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are sovereign over all things, including the schemes of the enemy. Lord, we ask that You rebuke Satan and every demonic force at work in this situation. We command the enemy, in Jesus’ name, to flee and to release his grip on this person and on Your child who has brought this request before You. Father, we ask that You surround this person with Your hedge of protection, that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17, WEB).
Lord, we also lift up the person being used by the enemy. We pray that You would break every stronghold in their life and set them free from the bonds of darkness. Draw them to Yourself, Lord, and let them encounter Your love, truth, and saving grace. Soften their heart to receive Your Word and turn away from anything that gives the enemy a foothold.
Father, we ask that You fill Your child with the Holy Spirit, clothe them in the full armor of God, and strengthen them to stand firm in this battle. Remind them that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4, WEB). Let them walk in the authority of Jesus’ name, knowing that nothing can separate them from Your love (Romans 8:38-39, WEB).
We declare victory in this situation, not by our own power, but by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11, WEB). Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for the assurance that You are already at work. We trust in You and give You all the glory. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to stay rooted in God’s Word, to pray without ceasing, and to surround yourself with fellow believers who can stand with you in prayer. Put on the whole armor of God daily—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17, WEB). The enemy may attack, but he cannot prevail against those who are in Christ. Stand firm, and trust that the Lord will fight for you (Exodus 14:14, WEB). If you need further counsel or prayer, do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to stand with you in the name of Jesus.
