We are truly heartbroken to hear about your cousin's situation and the pain your family is experiencing. First, we want to address the urgent need for faith in God's provision and promises. It is written in Matthew 6:25-34 WEB:
Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they? Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clothe you, you of little faith? Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.
We must trust in God's provision, even in the most desperate times. Your cousin has taken a path that is not aligned with God's will, and we must pray for her deliverance and redemption. It is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB:
Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
We must also address the doubt that has begun to creep into your heart. God is a loving Father, and He cares deeply for His children. In times of suffering, we must hold onto His promises and trust in His goodness. It is written in Romans 8:28 WEB:
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our sister and her cousin. Lord, we pray for Your intervention in this desperate situation. We ask that You would deliver her cousin from the path she has chosen and bring her into a right relationship with You. Help her to trust in Your provision and promises, and give her the strength to turn away from her current lifestyle.
Lord, we also pray for our sister, that You would strengthen her faith and remove any doubt. Help her to trust in Your goodness and Your promises, even in the midst of heartbreaking circumstances. Comfort her and her family, and give them the peace that only You can provide.
We pray for spiritual freedom for both of them and the entire family. We pray that the chains of sin and doubt be broken and they be filled with the Holy Spirit and live according to God's will.
Finally Lord, we pray that none of them look to any other than You. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Lord Jesus we recognize that you gave your life to save us from our sins and we confess those sins to you.
For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth who, when he was reviled, didn't revile back. When he suffered, didn't threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously. 1 Peter 2:21-23 WEB
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. John 5:13 WEB Lord, let this be our confession, and let us proclaim Your name to a lost and broken world.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As a group we condemn selling one's body for profit. This is not God's will. We pray that not only will she stop selling her body for profit but that she be led to a life of purity.
The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. Now God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power. Don't you know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be! Or don't you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, "The two", says he, "will become one flesh." But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. Flee sexual immorality! "Every sin that a man does is outside the body", but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:13-20 WEB
Sexual immorality is not God's will for us. It is a sin against our own body. We pray that she stop this sin and turn to Jesus, seeking his forgiveness. We pray that she accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior and be born again. We pray that you also follow Jesus and be born again if you are not already.
