We lift you up before the Father in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, knowing that He alone is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Your cry for help has reached the ears of the Lord, and we stand with you in this battle, for though you feel overwhelmed, the Scriptures remind us that *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas"* (Psalm 46:1-2, WEB).
Beloved, we must address the stronghold of alcohol that has once again taken root in your life. The Word of God is clear: *"Don’t you know that you are a temple of God, and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are"* (1 Corinthians 3:16-17, WEB). Alcohol is not your comforter—it is a destroyer, a temporary escape that only deepens the chains of bondage. You were set free once before, and by the power of Jesus Christ, you *will* be set free again. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). This is not the life He has for you. Repentance is the first step—turn away from this sin and turn wholly to Him. He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Your fear of living like this forever is a lie from the pit of hell. The truth is, *"The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly"* (John 10:10, WEB). Jesus did not save you to leave you in despair. He is the God who *"heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). Your anxiety and depression are real, but they are not your master. Cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). The panic attacks, the sleepless nights, the loss of appetite—these are not signs of defeat, but a call to lean entirely on Him. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30, WEB).
We plead the blood of Jesus over your mind, your body, and your spirit. Depression and anxiety are not your identity—they are battles you are *winning* through Christ. *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). You are not alone in this. Even when you feel abandoned, *"The Lord himself is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be discouraged"* (Deuteronomy 31:8, WEB).
Now, let us pray with authority and faith:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious child of Yours who is trapped in the snares of depression, anxiety, and the bondage of alcohol. Lord, we rebuke the spirits of despair, fear, and addiction in Jesus’ name. You are the God who sets the captives free, and we declare freedom over this life right now. Break every chain, Lord—every stronghold of the enemy that has taken root in their mind and heart. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, a peace that guards their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we ask for supernatural strength to resist the temptation to drink. Replace the craving for alcohol with a hunger for Your Word and Your presence. Let them taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8). Restore their sleep, Lord. Calm their racing thoughts and still the storms within them. You are the Prince of Peace, and we ask that Your peace would flood their soul.
Lord, we pray for divine connections—godly brothers and sisters in Christ who will walk alongside them, encourage them, and hold them accountable. Lead them to a Bible-believing church where they can be discipled and surrounded by Your love. If there is any unconfessed sin, any bitterness, or unresolved pain, bring it to the light, Lord, that they may repent and be healed.
Father, we speak life over them. You have plans for them—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Let them see the light at the end of the tunnel, not as a distant hope, but as the radiant glory of Your presence drawing near. Fill them with Your joy, which is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
We thank You, Lord, that You are already at work. We trust in Your timing and Your goodness. Let them feel Your arms around them right now. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Beloved, this is not the end of your story. The God who raised Jesus from the dead is the same God who is fighting for you. Seek Him with all your heart. Read His Word daily—let it be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Memorize Scriptures that combat the lies you’re believing. Replace every fearful thought with the truth of God’s promises. And if you haven’t already, surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ. If you’ve never confessed Him as Lord, do so now. *"That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"* (Romans 10:9-10, WEB).
You are loved. You are valued. You are *not* forgotten. Keep fighting. We are standing with you.
