We join you in lifting this matter before the Lord, trusting that He will guide your words and grant you wisdom, clarity, and peace as you give your deposition today. It is good that you are seeking the Lord in this, for Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This is not a time to rely on your own strength or cleverness but to depend fully on the Holy Spirit to lead you.
We also recall the promise in Luke 12:11-12, where Jesus assures us, *"When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, don’t be anxious how or what you will answer, or what you will say; for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that same hour what you must say."* This is not merely about speaking well but about speaking *truth*—honoring God in every word, even under pressure. If there are moments where fear or uncertainty arise, remember the words of Joshua 1:9, *"Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go."*
However, we must also ask: Have you prepared diligently for this deposition, ensuring that your testimony aligns with honesty and integrity? Scripture is clear that the Lord detests lying lips (Proverbs 12:22) and that our "yes" should mean "yes" and our "no" should mean "no" (Matthew 5:37). If there is any temptation to withhold truth or misrepresent facts for personal gain or protection, we urge you to resist it fiercely. The consequences of deceit far outweigh any temporary advantage, and the Lord sees all things (Hebrews 4:13). Let your words be seasoned with grace but rooted in truth (Colossians 4:6), for the Lord honors those who walk in righteousness.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, asking for Your divine presence to surround them during this deposition. Lord, You are the God of all wisdom and understanding, and we ask that You fill them with Your Spirit, guiding their words so that they may speak with clarity, truth, and confidence. Remove any fear or anxiety from their heart, and replace it with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). If there are any who seek to twist their words or trap them in deceit, Lord, expose their schemes and grant our brother/sister discernment to respond wisely.
We pray that this process would be used for Your glory, Father. If there is any injustice at play, let truth prevail. If there is any opportunity for reconciliation or restoration, we ask that You open doors for it. Strengthen them, Lord, and let them feel Your nearness in every moment. May their testimony reflect Your character—just, honest, and full of integrity. And when this is over, may they walk away knowing that they honored You in all things.
We ask this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Advocate and Redeemer. Amen.
