Servant of All
Please pray for me about this: sometimes while I am talking to someone, I will have a mean thought pop into my head about them. This thought will usually be something that I would never, ever think about anyone as I wouldn't want to be hurtful. Even though I will try to ignore that thought, sometimes the person it is directed to will begin treating me differently and the only way I can describe it is that it's like they know that that mean thought popped into my head but they think that I actually believe it. This is something very frustrating and confusing that I have been going through for a while.

We understand how deeply troubling and confusing this must be for you, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. What you are describing is a spiritual battle, and the enemy seeks to bring division, confusion, and condemnation through these intrusive thoughts. The fact that you recognize these thoughts as foreign to your heart and desire to love others is a sign that the Holy Spirit is at work in you, convicting and guiding you toward righteousness.

The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* These thoughts are not from you—they are fiery darts from the enemy, designed to create strife and isolate you. However, we are called to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). You have the authority, through Jesus Christ, to resist these attacks and reject these thoughts in His name.

It is also important to remember what Jesus said in Matthew 15:18-19, *"But the things which proceed out of the mouth come out of the heart, and they defile the man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies."* Since these thoughts do not align with your heart’s desire to honor God and love others, they are not from you—they are attacks meant to deceive and accuse. The enemy wants you to feel guilty, as though you are the source of these thoughts, but you must stand firm in the truth that you are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Another critical aspect is the spiritual sensitivity you described—where the other person seems to *know* the thought you rejected. This is a demonstration of the enemy’s ability to exploit spiritual discernment for his purposes. However, we must remember that God’s power is far greater. In Daniel 2:22, we read that God *"reveals the deep and secret things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him."* If the enemy can twist perceptions, how much more can God expose the truth and bring clarity? We must trust that God will vindicate you and protect your relationships as you stand firm in Him.

Now, let us address something vital: you did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ in your request. There is no greater name or authority by which we can approach the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in Acts 4:12, we are reminded, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is only through the name of Jesus that we have the power to rebuke the enemy and find victory. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). If you *have* accepted Christ, then we encourage you to always pray in His name, for it is through Him that we have access to the Father and the authority to overcome the enemy.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing spiritual attacks through intrusive and ungodly thoughts. Lord, we ask that You would rebuke the enemy and silence every voice that seeks to bring confusion, division, and condemnation. Your Word says in James 4:7 to *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* We declare that these thoughts have no place in the mind of Your child, for they are not from You. Father, we ask that You would renew their mind by the washing of Your Word (Ephesians 5:26) and fill them with the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, we pray that You would expose any spiritual openness or vulnerability that may be giving the enemy a foothold. If there is any unconfessed sin, any bitterness, or any area where our brother/sister has not fully surrendered to You, we ask that You would reveal it and grant them the strength to repent and turn away from it. Help them to walk in the fullness of Your armor, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18, so that they may stand firm against every scheme of the enemy.

Father, we also pray for protection over their relationships. Where the enemy has sought to create misunderstanding or offense, we ask that You would bring restoration and clarity. Let Your truth prevail, and let every lie of the enemy be exposed. We pray that You would surround them with Your angels, as Psalm 91:11 declares, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."*

We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful and that You will not allow Your child to be tempted beyond what they can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13). Strengthen them in their inner being by Your Spirit, and let them walk in the victory that Jesus Christ has already won on the cross. We rebuke every demonic assignment against their mind, their relationships, and their peace in the name of Jesus Christ. Let the enemy be scattered and let every plan to bring harm be turned to good, for Your glory.

Father, fill them with Your Holy Spirit and let them walk in the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Let them be a light in every conversation, reflecting Your heart and not the accusations of the enemy.

We ask all these things in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to actively resist these thoughts by speaking the Word of God over yourself. When a mean or ungodly thought enters your mind, immediately rebuke it in the name of Jesus and replace it with Scripture. For example, you might say, *"No, in the name of Jesus, I reject that thought. Father, fill me with Your love for this person."* Meditate on verses like Philippians 4:8: *"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things."*

You are not powerless in this. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Stand firm, and trust that the Lord will deliver you. Keep praying, keep resisting, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. We are standing with you in this battle, and we believe that the Lord will bring you complete victory.

We're here for you, and we're praying with you through this. It's so frustrating and confusing when these thoughts come, but remember, they're not from you. They're attacks from the enemy, trying to cause division and confusion. We're not powerless, though. We can stand against these attacks in Jesus' name.

In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus was overwhelmed with fear and anxiety, yet He stood firm and said, "Not my will, but yours be done." (Luke 22:42) He's given us that same strength and authority to resist the enemy's schemes.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Jesus, we come to You now, feeling the weight of these unwanted thoughts. We ask for Your strength and Your peace. Help us to recognize these thoughts as attacks and to reject them in Your name. Fill us with Your love and Your truth. Help us to stand firm, just as You did in the face of temptation.

We also ask for protection over our relationships. Where these thoughts have caused misunderstandings, we ask for Your healing and restoration. Help us to walk in love and unity, as You've called us to.

Thank You, Jesus, for Your faithfulness. Thank You for the victory You've already won on the cross. We trust in You and Your power to deliver us from these attacks.

In Your mighty name, we pray. Amen."

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!
