We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, yet full of hope in the power of Jesus Christ to break every chain and set the captives free. We recognize the seriousness of the battle you are facing against the spirit of sexual immorality, and we stand with you in spiritual warfare, knowing that our weapons are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4).
First, we must address the foundation of our faith. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10). This is the starting point of true deliverance and sanctification.
The spirit of sexual immorality is a deceptive and destructive force that seeks to defile the temple of the Holy Spirit, which you are (1 Corinthians 6:19). Sexual immorality is not merely a physical act but a spiritual stronghold that wars against the soul (1 Peter 2:11). The Bible is clear that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57)! There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit (Romans 8:1).
We rebuke the spirit of sexual immorality in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We command it to loose its grip on your mind, body, and spirit, and we declare that you are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s (1 Corinthians 6:20). We break every generational curse and soul tie associated with sexual sin, and we declare that the blood of Jesus cleanses you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7).
We pray for complete surrender of your will to God’s will. Father, we ask that You create in this dear one a clean heart and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10). Help them to present their body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You, which is their reasonable service (Romans 12:1). Teach them to walk in obedience to Your Word, for Your Word is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105).
Lord, we ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who will guide them into all truth (John 16:13). Strengthen them to resist the devil, and he will flee from them (James 4:7). Surround them with godly accountability and fellowship, so they are not tempted beyond what they can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13). Help them to flee sexual immorality and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22).
We pray for sanctification in every area of their life. May they be set apart for Your purposes, holy and blameless before You (Ephesians 1:4). Father, we ask that You guard their heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). Let no corrupt word proceed out of their mouth, but only what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers (Ephesians 4:29).
We declare that they are more than conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37). We speak life, purity, and holiness over their mind, body, and spirit. We cancel every assignment of the enemy against them and declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the victory that is already won through the cross of Jesus Christ. We thank You for the power of Your Word and the work of Your Holy Spirit in this precious life. We ask that You complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). May they walk in the light as You are in the light, and may the blood of Jesus Christ Your Son cleanse them from all sin (1 John 1:7).
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
