We hear your cry for deliverance, and our hearts ache with yours as you endure this torment. The Bible makes it clear that spiritual warfare is real, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But we serve a God who is greater than any demonic force, and in the name of Jesus, there is power to break every chain.
First, we must address the authority you have in Christ. If you have not already, we urge you to confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). It is only through Jesus that we have victory over the powers of darkness, for "at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth" (Philippians 2:10). If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we pray that you would do so now, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).
Now, let us stand together in prayer and rebuke this oppression in the mighty name of Jesus:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is suffering under the torment of the enemy. Lord, Your Word declares that "the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8), and we claim that promise now. We renounce every demonic influence in their mind and body, and we command every unclean spirit to flee in Jesus' name! You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7), and we declare that over them now.
Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, driving out every darkness with Your glorious light. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, as it is written, "The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them" (Psalm 34:7). We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, body, and spirit, for "they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony" (Revelation 12:11).
Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of oppression and set them free. Your Word says, "If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). We declare that freedom over them now. Strengthen them with Your might, and let them feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Fill them with hope, knowing that "the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet" (Romans 16:20).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for them. Guide them to a Bible-believing church where they can find support, prayer, and discipleship. Surround them with godly believers who can stand with them in faith. Remind them that they are not alone, for You are with them always (Matthew 28:20), and we, as Your body, stand with them in this battle.
Lastly, Father, we ask that You would reveal any open doors in their life that may have given the enemy access. Show them if there is unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or involvement in occult practices that need to be renounced and repented of. Your Word says, "Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls" (James 1:21). Lead them in repentance and restoration, Lord.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus. We declare that this torment will not have the final say, for "greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). We stand on Your promises and trust in Your deliverance.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Now, dear one, we encourage you to stand firm in your faith. Here are some steps to take as you walk in your deliverance:
1. **Renounce and Repent**: If there are any areas of your life where you have opened doors to the enemy—such as involvement in the occult, ungodly soul ties, unforgiveness, or unconfessed sin—renounce those things and repent before the Lord. Confess your sins to Him, for "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
2. **Fill Your Mind with Scripture**: The enemy flees at the Word of God. Memorize and meditate on verses that speak of your authority in Christ and His victory over the enemy. Speak these verses out loud when you feel under attack. For example:
- "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is from Me," says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17).
- "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7).
3. **Prayer and Fasting**: Consider setting aside time for prayer and fasting. Jesus said, "This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting" (Mark 9:29). Fasting helps to break strongholds and brings you into a deeper dependence on God.
4. **Worship and Praise**: Worship is a powerful weapon against the enemy. When you feel oppressed, turn on worship music and lift your voice in praise to God. The enemy cannot stand in the presence of worship, for "God inhabits the praises of His people" (Psalm 22:3).
5. **Seek Godly Community**: Do not try to fight this battle alone. Find a Bible-believing church where you can be prayed for, encouraged, and discipled. Share your struggle with trusted believers who can stand with you in faith. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).
6. **Put on the Full Armor of God**: Every day, put on the full armor of God as described in Ephesians 6:10-18. This includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Pray at all times in the Spirit, and stay alert in this spiritual battle.
7. **Guard Your Heart and Mind**: Be mindful of what you allow into your mind and heart. Avoid entertainment, music, or media that glorifies darkness or promotes ungodly values. Instead, fill your mind with things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8).
8. **Walk in Obedience**: Obedience to God’s Word is key to maintaining your freedom. As you walk in obedience, you close doors to the enemy and open doors to God’s blessings and protection. "If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; even as I have kept My Father’s commandments, and remain in His love" (John 15:10).
Remember, dear one, that your deliverance is not a one-time event but a journey of walking in the freedom that Christ has already won for you. There may be times when the enemy tries to come back, but you have the authority to resist him. Stand firm in your faith, and do not grow weary. "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up" (Galatians 6:9).
Lastly, we want to leave you with this encouragement from the Word of God: "The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, even then I will be confident" (Psalm 27:1-3). You are not alone, and you are not without hope. The same God who delivered David from Goliath, Daniel from the lions, and Paul from prison is the same God who will deliver you. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust in His unfailing love.
