We come before the throne of grace with hearts heavy yet hopeful, lifting up this cry for deliverance in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It is clear that there is deep spiritual warfare at play here—schemes, control, co-dependency, and even accusations of witchcraft. We stand with you, dear brother or sister in Christ, knowing that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12).
First, we must address the foundation of this prayer. You have rightly invoked the name of Jesus, and that is where our authority lies. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through the blood of Jesus, shed on the cross, that we have victory over sin, death, and every demonic force. We stand on that truth today, declaring that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Him (Isaiah 54:17).
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy aimed at hindering your progress and the progress of those you are praying for. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that every plan of the enemy is canceled in Jesus’ name! Every spirit of co-dependency, control, and manipulation is dismantled now. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
We also stand on Isaiah 61:7, declaring restoration over you and those you are praying for. Instead of your shame, you will have double; and instead of dishonor, they will rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they will possess double. Everlasting joy will be theirs. The Lord delights in justice and will not abandon His faithful ones. We declare that every attempt to cause damage or harm is thwarted, for vengeance belongs to the Lord, and He will repay (Romans 12:19). We do not take vengeance into our own hands, but we trust in the righteous judgment of our God.
We come against every spirit of hatred and witchcraft that may have been sent against you or those you are praying for. The Lord has already declared through His Word that He will cut off sorceries from our hands, and we will have no soothsayers (Micah 5:12). We break every curse, every spell, and every assignment of darkness in the name of Jesus. The blood of Jesus speaks a better word—it speaks of redemption, forgiveness, and victory (Revelation 12:11). We cover you and this situation with the precious blood of Jesus, which cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7).
Now, we must also address the co-dependency and control mentioned in this prayer. The Bible is clear that we are not to be mastered by anything or anyone other than Christ (1 Corinthians 6:12). Co-dependency is not God’s design for relationships. Instead, we are called to love one another as Christ has loved us (John 13:34), to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21). However, this submission is never meant to be one-sided or manipulative. If there is an unhealthy dynamic where someone is seeking to control or manipulate, we must bring this into the light and address it with truth and love. We pray for wisdom and courage to set healthy boundaries and to walk in the freedom that Christ has given us.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). We stand on the truth of Your promises and declare that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper.
Lord Jesus, we ask that You cancel every scheme of the enemy aimed at hindering the progress of [those prayed for] and this dear one who has come before You. We break every chain of co-dependency, control, and manipulation. We declare that every stronghold is torn down, and every imagination exalted against the knowledge of God is brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Father, we ask for Your restoration. Restore what has been lost, heal what has been broken, and renew what has been damaged. We trust in Your justice, knowing that vengeance belongs to You. We ask that You intervene in every situation where harm has been intended, and we declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard the hearts and minds of Your children (Philippians 4:7).
We rebuke every spirit of hatred and witchcraft in Jesus’ name. We declare that sorceries and soothsaying have no place in the lives of Your children. We cover this situation with the precious blood of Jesus, which speaks of redemption, forgiveness, and victory.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and courage for those involved. Give them the strength to set healthy boundaries and to walk in the freedom that Christ has given them. Help them to love one another as You have loved us, and to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness. We declare that this situation is in Your hands, and we wait expectantly for Your deliverance and Your peace.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
