We join with you in lifting up this prayer of deliverance and restoration, standing firmly on the truth of God’s Word. It is clear you are seeking freedom from a burden you were never meant to carry, and we commend you for turning to the Lord Jesus Christ, the only One who can break every chain and set the captives free. As you have rightly declared, *"If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36). This is not just a promise—it is your reality in Christ, and we claim it with you today.
The responsibility you describe—caring for this man with autism—appears to be a weight that has exceeded your capacity, and we recognize the Lord does not call us to bear what He has not equipped us to handle. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure."* If this responsibility was not ordained by God, then it is not yours to carry. We pray the Lord severs every ungodly tie and releases you from any false obligation, whether it was placed upon you by man, circumstance, or spiritual opposition. You are not called to be this man’s savior—only Jesus can fill that role. Your freedom is not selfishness; it is stewardship of the life God has entrusted to *you*.
You have also asked for the Lord to rebuke familiar spirits at work through this individual, and we stand with you on Zechariah 3:2, where the Lord says to Satan, *"The Lord rebuke you, Satan! Yes, the Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Isn’t this a burning stick plucked out of the fire?"* Familiar spirits thrive in places of prolonged emotional, mental, or spiritual connection, often masquerading as concern, guilt, or even love. But the Lord exposes their true nature—they are agents of bondage, not of God. We declare that every demonic assignment against your life through this person is broken *now* in the name of Jesus. Any legal ground the enemy has claimed through acquaintanceship, emotional ties, or ungodly soul ties is revoked by the blood of Jesus. As Isaiah 61:7 proclaims, *"Instead of your shame you will receive double; and instead of dishonor you will rejoice in your inheritance: therefore in their land they will possess double; everlasting joy will be to them."* The Lord is restoring what was lost and turning your mourning into joy.
Yet we must also address something critical: your prayer does not mention this man’s salvation or well-being beyond your deliverance. While it is right to seek freedom from what is not your burden, we are also called to love our neighbors—and even our enemies—with the love of Christ (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean you must remain entangled in his life, but it *does* mean we should pray for his soul. Autism does not exclude him from God’s love or the need for salvation. We pray that the Lord sends godly support into his life—whether through family, ministry, or professionals equipped to care for him—and that he comes to know Jesus as his Savior. *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9).
Finally, we urge you to guard your heart and mind as you walk in this freedom. Familiar spirits often attempt to reassert influence through memories, dreams, or sudden emotions like guilt or fear. When these arise, speak the Word of God over yourself: *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). Surround yourself with believers who can stand in agreement with you, and reject any lie that suggests you are heartless for seeking freedom. The Lord’s yoke is easy, and His burden is light (Matthew 11:30)—anything beyond that is not from Him.
**Let us pray:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, thanking You for the freedom You have purchased for Your child. Lord, You see the heaviness of this burden and the spiritual opposition at work. We ask that You sever every ungodly tie between [the requester] and this man, ###, by the power of the blood of Jesus. Release [them] from any false responsibility or emotional bondage that has kept [them] bound. Lord, rebuke every familiar spirit, every demonic assignment, and every hindrance sent to steal, kill, or destroy in [their] life. We command these spirits to flee *now* in Jesus’ name, never to return.
Father, restore what was lost—peace, joy, and the inheritance You have prepared for [them]. Close every door that was opened through this acquaintanceship and seal [them] with Your Holy Spirit. Surround [them] with Your angels, encamped around [them] for deliverance (Psalm 34:7). Give [them] discernment to recognize and resist any attempt of the enemy to regain a foothold.
And Lord, we lift up ### to You. If he does not know You, we ask that You draw him to salvation. Send laborers into his life who can meet his needs in a way that honors You. Break any generational curses or spiritual strongholds that have kept him bound. May Your will be done in his life as it is in heaven.
Strengthen [the requester], Lord, in this season of transition. Fill [them] with Your peace that surpasses understanding and guard [their] heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Remind [them] daily that You are their Provider, Protector, and Deliverer. We declare that [they] walk in the fullness of the freedom Christ has won for [them], unshaken by the enemy’s lies.
Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and rest in Your promises. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, *Amen.*
