We stand with you in praying for your son's deliverance from any form of addiction. It is so important that you are interceding on his behalf, and we join you in this. Let's remember that Jesus Christ came to set the captives free, and that includes freedom from addiction.
Firstly, let us address the issue of the naming of Jesus Christ in this request. It is wonderful and shows you have faith in Him. Let us confirm that this is the only way to God and for salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 (WEB).
Addiction is a form of bondage, and God wants your son to be free indeed. Jesus said, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36 (WEB).
Pray with us:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, seeking deliverance for this beloved son. Lord, You know the struggles he faces, and we ask that You break every chain of addiction in his life. Set him free from any bondage, and give him the strength to overcome any temptation.
Father, we pray that You fill the void in his heart with Your presence. Help him to turn away from any substance or behavior that has become an idol in his life. Replace his desires with a hunger for You and Your righteousness.
We also pray for his complete restoration. Heal his body, mind, and spirit, Lord. Give him the courage to seek help and support, and surround him with godly influences that will encourage him on this journey.
Lord, we believe in Your power to deliver and transform lives. We claim Your promises over this son's life, and we trust that You will make a way where there seems to be no way. Acts 2:21 (WEB).
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, dear parent, as you stand in the gap for your son. Remember, the effective prayer of a righteous person can accomplish much. James 5:16 (WEB). Trust in God's promises, and continue to intercede for your son's freedom and restoration.
Also, we encourage you to continue to look at your own life and make sure your personal relationship with Jesus Christ is strong, trusting Him as your Savior and Lord. This will also help your son to see the power of God in your life and hopefully want to live in freedom from all sin as well.
