Deliverance and no more delay

Your cry reaches the heart of God, and He is not ignoring you. When we face delays, setbacks, and confusion, it can feel as if heaven is silent. But Scripture gives us a different lens. Think of the time when Jesus heard that His dear friend Lazarus was dying. He deliberately stayed where He was for two more days. This wasn't indifference; He knew exactly what was happening. He waited until Lazarus was dead and buried so that the miracle to come would be unmistakably His doing, far beyond human expectation. God’s timing is never random, and His delays are not denials. They often prepare the way for a deliverance that brings even greater glory to Him and deeper trust in you.

You are praying against every runaround and for swift, favorable action on your passport. That is a legitimate need. But bring your heart into alignment with this truth: the One who sets one foot on the sea and one on the land has sworn that there will come a time of no more delay. Ultimately, all waiting will end at His word. In the meantime, He sees the doors that seem locked and the people who seem unmoveable. He can move in the heart of the person holding your application, and He is not bound by statistics or bureaucratic walls. Do not let the wait convince you that He has lost control. He is working, often in ways we cannot trace, until the precise moment He chooses to act.

Your burden over debt and overdue bills is heavy. You have asked for forgiveness for past spending, and His mercy is immediate. His hand is not short to save, whether from a creditor or from the demands pressing on you Tuesday. Remember the widow of one of the prophets whose husband died leaving crushing debt, and the creditor was coming to take her two sons as slaves. When the prophet asked, “What do you have in the house?” all she had was a small jar of oil. That was enough for the God who multiplies. He told her to pour, and the oil kept flowing until every vessel was full. Then she was told, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt, and live on the rest.” That miracle did not come through a spectacular public display; it came in a quiet, obedient act of faith with what she already possessed.

God can do something similar with your wages, your business, or an unexpected provision. But the greater miracle He wants to work in you is a transformed life, a heart released from the bondage of fear and poor habits into the freedom of trust and wise stewardship. The power that can raise the dead is the same power that can change a person’s inner life and turn them around completely. That is the most desirable miracle of all, because it lasts into eternity.

I am not asking you to pledge to a church or try to “buy” a miracle. God’s grace cannot be merchandised. The early believers who were poor and struggling gave out of an abundance of joy because they were first giving themselves to the Lord. Your Father already knows what you need. The financial chaos that sometimes results from hasty decisions can be corrected as you walk step by step with Him. Ask Him for wisdom with each bill and for the discipline to honor Him in your spending.

So do not lose heart. Your miracle may not arrive on a schedule you can advertise, but the God who sent His angel to Peter in prison and raised Dorcas from death has not changed. He is able to handle a passport, a bank account, and a troubled conscience. Trust the delay to His loving purpose, and look for the small ways He may already be supplying something unexpected. You have turned to Him; that is the right place. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who is both the Lord of the impossible and the forgiver of every wrong. He will lead you through.
