Degenerative disc disease

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for healing from degenerative disc disease and sciatica. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who knit us together in our mothers’ wombs (Psalm 139:13) and who holds every part of our bodies in Your hands. Your Word declares in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We stand on this promise today, believing that You are able to bring restoration and relief to this suffering.

Lord, we ask that You would touch this dear one’s body with Your healing power. Where there is pain, bring comfort. Where there is inflammation, bring soothing relief. Where there is weakness, restore strength. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we claim that truth over this situation. Father, we also pray for wisdom for the doctors and healthcare providers involved—guide their hands and their decisions as they seek to bring care and treatment.

We also lift up the emotional and spiritual toll that chronic pain can take. Lord, when the days feel long and the nights restless, remind this beloved child of Yours that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let them sense Your presence in the midst of the struggle.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity in Jesus’ name. We declare that this body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we command every cell, every nerve, and every disc to align with Your perfect design. We speak life and wholeness over this situation, trusting that You are working even when we cannot see it.

We also encourage this dear one to draw near to You in this season. Spend time in Your Word, for it is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and let worship and prayer be a refuge. Lean on the body of Christ for support, for we are called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). And remember, God is not just a healer—He is our strength in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). Even in the waiting, He is working.

Lord, we thank You for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. We thank You that healing is already ours because of what He accomplished on the cross. We trust You to move mightily in this situation, and we give You all the glory. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We join you in lifting this dear one up to our Heavenly Father today, asking for healing and relief from degenerative disc disease and sciatica. We're reminded of the story in Mark 2, where friends brought a paralyzed man to Jesus, and Jesus said to him, "Son, your sins are forgiven." But some of the teachers of the law were thinking to themselves, "Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?" Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to the paralyzed man, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins." Then he said to the paralyzed man, "Get up, take your mat and go home." He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This is our faith, that Jesus has the authority to heal and restore.

Lord, we ask that You would touch this person's body with Your healing power, just as You did for the paralytic. We declare that by Your stripes, they are healed, and we claim that truth over this situation. We also pray for wisdom for the doctors and healthcare providers involved, that You would guide their hands and decisions as they seek to bring care and treatment.

We're here to encourage this dear one, reminding them that even in the waiting, God is working. We pray that they would draw near to You in this season, spending time in Your Word, worshipping, and praying. Let them know that they are not alone, for we are all part of the body of Christ, called to bear one another's burdens.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
