Defeat your enemies

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord you defeated them on the cross 2000 years ago you know and see everything. Please bring us your mighty justice Jesus. Amen

We join you in this powerful declaration and we agree together before the throne of grace for the mighty justice of our Lord Jesus Christ.

You have spoken a profound truth, that our Lord has already secured the ultimate victory. As it is written, having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it Colossians 2:15. The cross was not a defeat but a triumph, and the resurrection sealed that no enemy, whether spiritual forces of darkness or the injustice of this world, can stand against Him. We take comfort that He indeed knows and sees everything, for nothing is hidden from His sight.

We understand the cry for justice, for we serve a God who loves justice. For Yahweh loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints Psalm 37:28. And we are reminded not to take vengeance into our own hands, but to trust it to Him who judges righteously, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. His justice is perfect, His timing is perfect, and while we may long for immediate vindication, we rest in knowing that He will repay and He will make all things right. For we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who defeated sin, death, and every enemy on the cross. We thank You that You see all things, You know the schemes of the enemy, and You are sovereign over all. We ask You to manifest Your mighty justice in this situation and in our lives. Let Your righteousness shine forth and let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask that You frustrate the plans of the wicked, protect Your people from the evil one, and let Your truth and justice prevail. Help us to walk not in fear or in a spirit of retaliation, but in faith, patience, and holy trust, committing our cause to You who judges righteously. Strengthen our hearts as we wait on You, and let us be found faithful. We ask all this in the victorious and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Defender, Amen.

We hear your cry for justice and we join you in it. There is real comfort in remembering that Jesus has already won the victory on the cross and that nothing is hidden from Him, even when things around us feel unfair or heavy.

Longing for God to step in and set things right is a deep and right desire, and waiting for His timing can be hard. We have found it helps to keep bringing that same honest prayer to Him day by day, not because He needs reminding, but because it keeps our hearts resting in His care instead of carrying the weight of the wrong alone. If it helps, you might set aside a quiet moment each day to name before Him what feels unjust and then consciously place it back in His hands to handle in His way and time.

We are glad you invited others to pray with you. Staying connected with a trusted pastor or a couple of faithful believers can be a steady support while you wait on the Lord.

Father, we thank You that You see all things and that justice belongs to You. We ask You to guard our friend's heart, give peace in the waiting, and work Your good and right will in this situation. Keep them close to You and lead them with wisdom each step. In Jesus' name, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer lays hold upon a sure and glorious truth, that our Lord Jesus Christ has already won the victory. It is a Divine promise and every word of promise that comes from God is established. The Father Himself has put forth His hand to guarantee it when He says, Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great. It will certainly be achieved by the Son.

That victory is not only sure but glorious. The great King rewards our Champion, and forever and ever boundless honors shall be given to Christ for His victory over every force of evil. The Seed of the woman shall trample on the serpent. As the result of His death upon the cross, Satan's power is broken and He will no longer go forth to rule among the nations as he once did.

You have rightly remembered that He knows and sees everything. His kingdom ruleth over all, and there is no attribute more comforting to His children than Divine Sovereignty. If His hand ruled not over evil it would not be omnipotent. Nothing escapes His eye, not a thought, not a deed, and when we stand before His bar we shall say He is just when He condemns and clear when He judges.

For the believer that justice is already satisfied. Justice like a dark angel stood across the road of mercy with sword drawn, but Christ the victim offered Himself up to Divine justice. He who is God over all blessed forever endured all to satisfy its demands. Now Justice itself stands in the way no longer, for when Justice once is satisfied it were injustice if it should ask for more. God can be just and yet the justifier of him that believeth in Jesus.

Therefore take your present difficulties to the Lord in prayer and faith and so triumph over them. It was the mighty power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in Him by which Jesus overcame the world, and that same quiet power dwelling in us will make us win the same victory by faith. When the Head was victorious over the foe, every member of His mystical Body, even the most uncomely, was virtually a conqueror in the conquering Head. Did His hands win the victory, then our feet triumph. Did His head achieve the conquest, then our hearts share the honor.

Wait upon Him for His mighty justice. We have known the Lord to save His servants in the hour of trouble by touching the hearts of their enemies, and at other times by putting enemies to confusion as He did with Haman when he plotted the destruction of His people. He will do what is right in His time and in His way. You may hope that the Divine Spirit will still display His power to the glory of His grace.

May the Lord keep you close to Christ, more than conqueror through Him that has loved us, and grant you good cheer as you rest in His finished work until He brings forth justice openly. Amen.

Your prayer for justice reaches the very heart of what Scripture teaches about Christ and His victory. On the cross the Lord did indeed defeat sin and death and the powers of darkness, and having offered Himself once for all He sat down at the right hand of God, expecting until His enemies are put under His feet.

That word expecting is important. The victory is already won, yet the full putting of all enemies under His feet is still to come. God delays not because He is slow or because He does not see, but for the sake of mercy, so that more may be brought to repentance and faith and be saved through Jesus Christ alone. He knows and sees everything, nothing is hidden from Him, and His justice is perfect.

Scripture shows us that just as there are courts and judgments among men in every house and city, how much more will there be a righteous judgment with God, whose righteousness is like the great mountains and whose right hand is full of justice. His enemies are not only human adversaries but the spiritual enemies of our souls, the evil powers and unbelief and every work of darkness, and He will bring them into complete subjection under His feet.

So we join you in praying for His mighty justice to be revealed in His perfect time and way. We pray that you would rest in the finished work of Christ, that you would trust His wisdom in the waiting, and that you would be kept from taking vengeance into your own hands. Instead, seek to live justly and to love mercy, to pray even for those who oppose you, and to walk in holiness while you wait for the Lord to set all things right.

Father, we thank You that Jesus has perfected forever those who are being sanctified by His one offering. We ask You to strengthen this heart that cries out to You, to give peace in knowing that You see and You will judge righteously, to defeat every work of the enemy, and to hasten the day when every enemy is put under the feet of Christ. Keep us faithful and hopeful until that day, through Jesus our Lord. Amen.
