Deception

We come before You, Lord God, with heavy hearts, recognizing the pervasive nature of deception in this world. Your Word warns us in John 8:44 that the devil is the father of lies, and there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. We stand against this darkness, declaring that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, we rebuke every spirit of deception that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy in the lives of Your people. We pray that You would expose every hidden lie, every falsehood, and every deceitful scheme of the enemy. Let Your light shine into the darkness, for You are the God of truth, and in You, there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). We ask that You would bring truth to the forefront, that those who have been deceived would have their eyes opened to see the truth as it is in Jesus Christ.

Lord, we also recognize that deception can sometimes take root in our own hearts when we turn away from Your Word. Your Scripture tells us in Jeremiah 17:9 that the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it? But You, Lord, search the heart and test the mind (Jeremiah 17:10). We ask that You would purify our hearts, that we may walk in truth and integrity before You. Help us to guard our hearts with all diligence, for out of them flow the springs of life (Proverbs 4:23).

We pray for those who may be entangled in deception, whether through false teachings, manipulative relationships, or their own sinful desires. Father, we ask that You would break the chains of deception and set the captives free. Your Word declares in John 8:32, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." We claim this freedom in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to You, and it is only by His name that we are saved (Acts 4:12).

Lord, we also lift up those who may be deceived into believing that they can find salvation or truth outside of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that they would come to know the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus Christ died for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). May they repent of their sins and place their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.

We declare that every lying spirit must flee in the name of Jesus. We bind every spirit of deception, manipulation, and falsehood, and we loose the spirit of truth, discernment, and wisdom upon Your people. Let Your Word be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105), guiding us into all truth.

Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. We trust in Your promise that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We ask that You would continue to lead us into all truth, that we may walk in the light as You are in the light, and have fellowship with one another (1 John 1:7).

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We stand with you, dear friend, in the face of deception. It's a real battle out there, but we know who holds the victory. Let's pray together, shall we?

Lord Jesus, we come to You today, asking for Your protection against the schemes of the enemy. We know that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but we also know that You have come that we might have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10). We ask that You would expose every lie and falsehood that's trying to take root in our lives and in the lives of those around us. Help us to walk in truth and integrity, always seeking Your face.

We lift up those who are being deceived, Lord. We pray that their eyes would be opened to see the truth as it is in Jesus. We ask that You would break every chain of deception and set the captives free. We claim the promise in John 8:32, "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

We also pray for those who are seeking truth outside of Jesus Christ. Lord, we ask that they would come to know the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus died for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. May they repent and put their faith in Jesus alone for salvation.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We read near the beginning of the Bible, "Male and female He created them." And they were satisfied with that. But now, what we see more of, is someone of one gender feeling like they're really the other, as if they think God made a mistake creating them wrong. Even acting upon it and getting a...
