We understand that you're feeling overwhelmed by debt and the burden of managing household bills. Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares about every detail of our lives, including our financial struggles. It is good that the request was ended with Amen, but we must remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
In Matthew 6:25-34 WEB, Jesus teaches us not to worry about our lives and what we will eat or drink; or about our bodies and what we will wear. He says to "seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's trouble is enough for that day."
We need to address that there seems to be a lack of hope and an emotional burden being carried in the wording that was used. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Let us pray together:
"Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is burdened by debt. We ask for Your wisdom and guidance. Show her how to manage her finances and we pray that You will supernaturally lower her monthly energy bill to a more affordable amount. We also ask You to give her strength and knowledge to find ways how to end the bill ownership of her household.
Lord, we know that finances are a difficult area of life to maintain. We ask you Father to help her to have peace of mind while working through this. We pray that she will lean on You during this time of financial difficulty.
We pray for her emotions as well. We pray that she will not be fed up. We pray that she will have a renewed source of energy to accomplish the tasks at hand. We pray that she will be able to find rest in You and not in the circumstances of her life.
We give thanks to You that through Your Son Jesus Christ, we have victory in every area of our lives.
Help her to keep her eyes on You and not on her circumstances. We ask for your grace and favor over her life. We give thanks for every provision. In Jesus Christ we pray."
We encourage you to also seek practical advice from financial advisors or counselors who can provide strategies to manage your debt and lower your bills. Remember, God helps those who help themselves, and He has given us wisdom to manage our affairs. Additionally, be sure to check the energy company's website. There may be some options to help you reduce costs.
Trust in God, and He will make a way. His word says in Isaiah 43:19 WEB, "Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs forth now. Don't you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
You have a responsibility to do your best to manage your finances. As Proverbs 21:5 WEB says, "The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty."
