Humble Prayer Partner
Dear Prayer Warriors,
I am asking for prayer from you all for some one else. I ended up in a area two days ago not really sure why, but I met a homeless man who was being addressed by a police officer. He may have had a drink or two but any way I walked over to him and the police and asked if I could given him a bus ticket so he could get off the street for a while. The police said I'm pretty sure you can find a better way to use that ticket. The man says nobody cares about me. It hit me hard as heck. I said sure I care about you and I want to help. I noticed he was wearing a band as if he had been in the hospital. So I asked why and when was he in the hospital he said yesterday because he has seizures. So I asked the cop if we could get him to a hospital and make sure he is ok. I told him I was following him to the hospital and I would meet him there. So at the hospital I began to ask questions and he was very cooperative with the fact he didn't know me from Adam. Eventually he tolde he was tired of living his life the way he was. So I asked if he had ever considered going into treatment. He said he has before but he got depressed again and slipped back to drinking. So I later found out he was a Lt. in the military and had a degree in political science. Also he said he has PTSD. Oh now I am mad, another person who has served this country and left out to the dogs. So I waited 6 hours for him to get out of the hospital, took him to get a sandwich and dropped him off a near by spot where the homeless lie around. I told him I would be back the next day to get him to do the assessment routine for possible treatment and he was not to drink anything over night. So I left him with a hope of good will. So after my class I met him back at the spot I dropped him off. He was there talking with another guy who had alcohol all in his lap. I say to this guy Alvin was his name, are you ready to get things done. He says yes...so I took him to get new meds (RX) but he had just got them filled 2 weeks ago and some one had
stole them when he passed out . So I asked how can I get this fixed and I am in the process of getting him new meds. However when I came the next day Alvin was not drinking and I had to get to an appointment so I told him we would have to resume the next day to do his assessment. So I feel this man is going to progress. So I am asking for deep prayers for Alvin the be delivered from his alcoholism etc.and that he get the things he so ask for to help him make a better life. I want prayer for this man in Jesus name. I have no idea how or why I got involved but I think this is a blessing for Alvin...Please pray for this situation in Jesus name Amen.
