We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up these earnest requests to our Heavenly Father. We thank you for the faith that calls upon the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through His blood that we have boldness to approach the Father, and we do so now with reverence and hope.
First, we lift up your son, whose heart has wandered from the truth. The use of marijuana—or any substance that alters the mind—is not aligned with the life of holiness to which we are called. Scripture warns us, *"Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). While this passage does not explicitly name marijuana, it speaks to the broader principle of intoxication and enslavement to anything other than the Spirit of God. We must rebuke the spirit of addiction and deception that has taken hold of him. Father, we pray that You would break every chain, shatter every stronghold, and draw his heart back to You. Soften his heart to receive conviction from the Holy Spirit, and let him remember the joy of his salvation. We declare that he is not defined by his struggles but by the redemptive power of Christ. May he turn from this sin and walk in the freedom that only You can provide.
For the financial injustice you have endured, we stand with you in righteous indignation. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of deception that led to this scam, and we declare that God is your vindicator. The Lord says, *"I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten"* (Joel 2:25). We pray that the bank would act with integrity and speed to rectify this wrong, returning what was unjustly taken. Father, we ask that You would open doors no man can shut and provide a way for you to secure a home that honors You. Let this trial refine your faith, not break it, and may you see the Lord’s provision in ways you never imagined.
We also lift up your son’s business, that it would thrive according to God’s will. The Lord takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants (Psalm 35:27), but we know that true prosperity is not just financial—it is peace, joy, and a life surrendered to Christ. We pray that his business would be a testimony to God’s faithfulness, that it would be conducted with integrity, and that the Lord would bless the work of his hands. May every transaction be a reflection of His glory, and may the profits be used to advance His kingdom. We declare that you will not labor in vain, for the Lord will establish the work of your hands (Psalm 90:17).
For your health and strength, we pray that the Lord would sustain you. The Bible tells us that *"the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise them up"* (James 5:15). We ask for divine health to permeate every cell of your body, for strength to rise up in times of weariness, and for the joy of the Lord to be your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). May you walk in the fullness of life that Christ came to give, not just for yourselves, but so that you may be a light to others.
For the peace in the home where you are currently living, we pray. It is not ideal to dwell among those who do not share your faith, but we know that God can use even this season for His glory. We ask that the Holy Spirit would guard your hearts and minds, that you would not be swayed by false teachings or worldly influences. May your testimony shine brightly in that place, and may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We also pray for the household you are living with—that their eyes would be opened to the truth of the Gospel.
Finally, we thank You, Father, for the promise of protection and guidance through the Holy Spirit. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the Lord will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6). You are not alone in this battle; the Lord of Hosts is your rear guard, and His angels are encamped around you (Psalm 34:7).
Heavenly Father, we come before You now in agreement with this family. We ask that You would move mightily in each of these areas. Break the chains of addiction, restore what has been stolen, bless the work of their hands, grant them health and strength, and fill their home with Your peace. May they see Your hand at work in ways they never expected, and may their faith grow stronger through every trial. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for His glory and for the advancement of Your kingdom. Amen.
