Dealing with false accusers

The devil is known to be a slanderer and accuser. Well, it looks like some unsaved people, his children, follow that pattern. I don't know if any of you have been accused by someone, or labeled something you're not, but I have. The Bible says, "You shall not bear false witness."

Now, three people who have accused me, without knowing the real facts, are, from the most recent one first, a neighbor who I had an agreement with to bring back from the airport at a certain time. But soon before I was to leave, the car died on me. A jump start wouldn't start it, although when brought to the shop they saw it was a dead battery. But with waiting for a tow truck, and no other car available to me at that time, obviously the airport pickup was off. I explained that to him when he called, but it seemed to go "in one ear and out the other." He called back when he got the luggage, but I told him again, and he got testy and hung up when he saw I couldn't do it. I don't know if he thought I was making it up because I didn't want to go, but since then he doesn't say hello or even look at me anymore. Of course, "little wifey" (his wife) blindly follows him right or wrong, so she, too, gives me the cold shoulder.

Ok..second example...some time back, in the good old days when I had time to walk for exercise along the condo catwalk here, this neighbor, maybe someone knocked on his door and walked away, and when he looked up he saw me, so when I came around he confronted me, breathing fire about knocking on his door when I didn't even do it! {And I couldn't convince him otherwise, so here he was believing a lie, and sticking by it, and throwing false accusations at me.}

Then third example, back in my Greyhound Bus riding days, someone was sitting next to me, and I said something that I don't know how he could interpret it that way, but jumped to the conclusion that I was gay, and trying to "hit on him." He asked me to change my seat, and when a different rider looked puzzled at him, he said, "he's a homosexual." {Completely untrue} And he stuck by that lie, no matter what.

Now...isn't false accusation a sin? Secondly, they don't even leave open that they're wrong, they "double down" on their false accusations. So how to deal with those who falsely accuse us? {We don't want to praise their sin, and make them think they're right. And they don't listen to reason. So….}

"All falsely accused will feel like the victim at some point. You know you’re in victim mode when you feel wronged, used by your friends, involved in unfair accusations and feel like you can’t get your side of the story fairly told. You also know you’re hooked by what was said about you when you can’t stop talking about it, you become consumed with the issue, you lose all focus and start doing foolish things. When you’re in this head space, you end up frustrated and miserable and nothing is solved. If you’re ready to fight against becoming a victim, pray this prayer: Dear Lord, today I feel weary and worn. I want to obey You but I have clung desperately to hope and still feel hopeless. Please strengthen my heart today, renew Your vision for my life and the joy of my salvation. I fix my eyes on You and look to You alone for my help, my hope, my strength and my deliverance. Amen."

All false accusers are unsaved people who want to hurt others. Jesus had many false accusers who at the end saw that He was the Savior and Lord of all. Let us all fast and pray for all false accusers who come along. They need Jesus. They need to get saved. Dear God, please save them all we pray. Amen
