We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to Him, for we know that He sees and cares deeply for the weariness and burdens of His children. First, we must address the relationship mentioned here. While we understand the love and concern for this man, we must gently but firmly remind you that Scripture calls believers to pursue marriage, not merely a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. The term "boyfriend" implies a relationship that is not yet committed under God’s covenant of marriage, and we encourage you both to seek the Lord’s will in moving toward a godly union if that is His plan for you. "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4). If this relationship is not moving toward marriage, we must prayerfully consider whether it aligns with God’s design for purity and commitment.
Now, we lift up this man’s exhausting work situation to the Lord, for He is the God who gives rest to the weary and strength to the weak. The hours he is keeping are not only unsustainable but are robbing him of the time he needs to rest, recharge, and draw near to God. We rebuke the spirit of exploitation and overwork in this workplace, for the Lord did not design His children to be crushed under unrelenting labor. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:28-29). We declare that this man is not a slave to his job, but a son of the Most High, and we pray that God would intervene to grant him the rest he so desperately needs.
Lord, we ask You to move mightily in this workplace. Soften the hearts of his supervisors and managers, that they would see the injustice of piling work onto one man while they take time off. We pray for divine wisdom to be given to those in authority, that they would either approve his leave, arrange for additional help, or allow him to carry over his days so that he does not lose what is rightfully his. "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain" (Psalm 127:1). We declare that it is not by human effort alone that this situation will be resolved, but by Your mighty hand.
We also pray for this man’s spiritual well-being. The exhaustion he is experiencing is not just physical but spiritual, and we ask that You would draw him closer to You during this time. Even in the midst of his fatigue, may he find moments to open Your Word and seek Your face. "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105). We pray that You would refresh his soul, renew his strength, and remind him that his identity is not in his work but in Christ. May he find true rest in You, even if his circumstances do not yet change.
Father, we ask for a miracle in this situation. We pray that You would open doors that no man can shut and provide a way for him to take the time off he needs. Whether it is through additional help being assigned, his leave being approved, or his days being carried over, we trust that You are working all things together for his good. "And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). We declare that this man will not be robbed of the rest You have ordained for him.
Finally, we pray for wisdom and discernment for both of you as you navigate this season. May you seek the Lord together, trusting in His provision and timing. If marriage is in His plan for you, may you move forward in a way that honors Him, seeking His will above all else. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can come before the Father. Amen.
