Day 12

FruitoftheSpiritSelf-Control.pdf

Good morning I posted a question on a site yesterday in two parts one was would we be more at peace if we stopped standing and the second was would we be more at peace if we stopped standing for the resurrection of our marriage and just stood on the word?

I was talking on Sunday about no one being able to fight all the time we need rest. Not only do we need rest we self-control to rest. Some have been in battle mode for so long that you don’t know anything else.

THE BATTLE IS OVER AND THE ENEMY HAS LOST. It is time we claimed and lived what we believe. We are Christian and we have the Holy Spirit. He is our comforter, advocate. He intercedes for us when we don’t know what to say or pray, he also brings to remembrance all things Jesus.

Isn’t that wonderful. But it is time we started to live by the fruits of the Holy Spirit. We need to be spirit lead. One of the fruits I want to look at today is self-control. We all see self-control as being able to cease from doing something or to do something when you have to. To be in control of yourself. Well from this experience how well is it going for all of us?

One thing I have learned about self-control is that I don’t have any. I really do not have any at all. Wow. It is like I am watching myself do things that I shouldn’t be doing that or I find myself justifying my actions.

Self-control in our situation isn’t just not snooping, calling, texting, drive by or zipping your lips around your spouse and friends. Self-control is leaving it for God to handle and never picking it back up. Self-control is bring all thoughts under submission. Self-control is thinking only well, if something your spouse does irritates you; you think of something nice he did instead.

Self-control is spending quiet time alone with God daily

If we want victory in any area in our life we need to live by the fruits on the spirit. So think of areas that you don’t have or exercise self-control in. Find out what the bible says about it (I have attached a bible study on it) and spent time giving it over to God.

Then in your journal:

. Write any prayer you have for Today. Anything you need for today. No matter how small.

Also write anything you are thankful for today and some praises to God. For he is worthy and deserves it. Amen.

If you still have time or at some point today. Find a verse or scripture text reading. Anything out of the bible and read and meditate on it for a few minutes, then write a little bit about what you got from it, how it made you feel. Anything.
(We will do these every day).
