We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious daughter and the concerns laid before us. First, we rejoice in her pursuit of furthering her education from an RN to a BSN. Father, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for her, granting her favor with her instructors, administrators, and peers. Provide the financial resources, time management, and strength she needs to excel in her studies. May her work bring glory to Your name and be a testimony of Your faithfulness. "Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established" (Proverbs 16:3 WEB).
Lord, we also bring before You the matter of this past relationship. We declare that the enemy has no place in her life, and we stand against any lingering ties or emotional entanglements with this man who did not honor her or Your design for relationships. We rebuke the spirit of unfaithfulness, deceit, and selfishness that he displayed, and we pray that You would sever any ungodly soul ties that may remain. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). Father, we ask that You would surround her with a hedge of protection, as You did for Job, so that this man will never have access to her heart, mind, or life again. "For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord, “plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).
We also must address the reality that this relationship involved two years of emotional and financial investment without the commitment of marriage. Lord, we ask that You would heal her heart from any pain, betrayal, or bitterness that remains. Help her to see herself as You see her—valuable, worthy of honor, and deserving of a godly spouse who will cherish and lead her in righteousness. We pray that she would not settle for anything less than Your best for her life. "He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the Lord" (Proverbs 18:22 WEB). May she seek a man who loves You first and foremost, who will love her as Christ loves the church, and who will pursue her with purity and integrity.
Father, we also lift up the issue of fornication, which is any sexual relationship outside the covenant of marriage. If this was a part of their relationship, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB). Lord, we pray that she would walk in purity moving forward, guarding her heart and body as the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Finally, we must emphasize that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You, Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If this daughter does not yet know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we pray that she would come to a saving knowledge of Him. May she repent of her sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and surrender her life to Him. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). If she is already a believer, we pray that she would grow in her relationship with You, seeking Your will in all things.
Heavenly Father, we trust You to work all things together for her good, as You promise in Your Word (Romans 8:28). We declare that her future is bright, filled with hope, and secured in Your hands. May she walk in the fullness of Your purpose for her life, free from the snares of the past, and fully surrendered to Your will. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
