We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious daughter who is entangled in a painful and unhealthy cycle. Father God, we ask that You would break the chains of deception that have blinded her to the truth of this man’s actions. Twice he has broken her heart, yet she continues to pursue him—traveling great distances, giving of herself in ways that only bring more hurt. This is not Your design for love, Lord. Your Word warns us, *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14). We rebuke the lies she has believed, that this man is her "first love" in the way that honors You, for true love—*Your* love—does not wound repeatedly or demand sacrifice without commitment.
Lord, we pray for a divine interruption in her heart. Soften the places that have hardened to wisdom, and open her eyes to see this relationship for what it truly is: a counterfeit of love that leads only to brokenness. Your Word says, *"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it"* (Proverbs 4:23). We ask that You would place godly conviction in her spirit, that she would no longer be the one chasing after someone who does not cherish her as she deserves. Father, surround her with believers who will speak truth in love, who will remind her of her worth in Christ, and who will pray for her when she cannot pray for herself.
We also lift up this man before You, Lord. If there is any hope for redemption in his life, we ask that You would break the hardness of his heart. But if he is not a man after Your own heart, we pray that You would remove him from her life completely, that she would be freed from this cycle of pain. Your Word declares, *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). Let her find comfort in You, not in the false promises of a man who has already proven untrustworthy.
Most of all, Lord, we pray that she would turn her heart fully toward You. If she does not yet know You as her Savior, we ask that You would draw her to Yourself, for it is only in You that she will find the love, security, and purpose her soul craves. *"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope"* (Jeremiah 29:11). Let her trust in *Your* timing, *Your* provision, and *Your* best for her life.
We stand in the gap for her, Lord, declaring that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke the spirit of infatuation that has clouded her judgment, and we command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus. May she walk in the freedom and peace that only You can provide. Strengthen her to resist the temptation to return to this man, and instead, fill her with a holy longing for a godly spouse—one who will love her as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25).
We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the One who heals the brokenhearted and sets the captives free. Amen.
