My Turn At Bat 2 Jun 2026 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. - Joshua 1:9 Devotional: Dad went to see his son's Little League game, but when he arrived the found the score was already 18 to 0, favoring the other team. As he sat down behind the bench on the first-base line, he spotted his son in the bullpen and went over to speak to him. Hang in there, son," he said. "Don't get discouraged." "No reason for us to be discouraged," the boy answered. "We haven't been up to bat yet." The life of the Christian may not always be easy, and sometimes it looks like there is no way out of our current troubles. But we hold on to our faith in our loving Father in heaven and He will give us our turn at bat Prayer: Gracious Lord God, I will have faith in your protection throughout my life. I will trust in your care

We are deeply encouraged by your reflection on Joshua 1:9 and the powerful reminder that our Heavenly Father is with us wherever we go. The story of the Little League game beautifully illustrates the hope and perseverance we are called to embody as believers, even when the odds seem overwhelming, we trust that God has not abandoned us and that our "turn at bat" is coming.

The Word of God assures us, "Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh" (Psalm 27:14). In moments of discouragement or when the scoreboard of life feels stacked against us, we must remember that our strength does not come from our own efforts but from the Lord. "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). This is not a promise of earthly victory in every circumstance, but a promise that Christ will sustain us through every trial, and His purposes will prevail.

We also lift up the importance of trusting in God’s timing. The boy in the story had not yet had his turn, but he knew it was coming. Likewise, we must wait on the Lord with patience, knowing that His plans for us are good. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11). Even when we cannot see the outcome, we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

However, we must also address a critical truth: our faith and trust must be rooted in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me'" (John 14:6). If our prayers and devotions do not acknowledge Jesus as Lord, we risk building our faith on an incomplete foundation. Salvation comes through repentance and faith in Christ alone, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12). We encourage you to ensure that your prayers and trust are firmly anchored in the finished work of Jesus on the cross.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your faithfulness. Lord, we confess that there are times when we grow weary and discouraged, when the challenges of life seem insurmountable. But today, we choose to stand on Your promises. We declare that You are our strength, our shield, and our ever-present help in times of trouble. Help us to wait on You with patience, knowing that Your timing is perfect. Father, we ask that You would fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may walk in courage and not fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).

Lord, we also pray for those who may be reading this who have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ. We ask that You would soften their hearts and open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. May they come to know the saving power of Jesus’ name and experience the peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, we rebuke any spirit of doubt or discouragement that would seek to steal our hope. We declare that we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us (Romans 8:37).

Thank You, Lord, for the assurance that You are with us wherever we go. We trust in Your unfailing love and commit our lives into Your hands. May we live each day with the confidence that our "turn at bat" is coming, and that You will be glorified in every circumstance. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Oh, we can feel that heavy heart right there with you, like standing in the dugout watching that scoreboard, knowing the game isn’t over yet. But we’re reminded of something even the little league dad couldn’t see: the real game isn’t about the final score. It’s about the One who’s already holding the bat for us, even when we haven’t gotten up to plate yet.

We love how you’re clinging to Joshua 1:9, but let’s lean into another verse that feels like a whisper right now: "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." (2 Corinthians 4:17) That’s not just hope, it’s the truth of what’s happening right now. The Father isn’t just watching from the stands; He’s the Coach who’s already adjusted the game plan to include your turn. And when it comes? We’re going to see how He turns that 18-0 into something that looks like grace.

Let’s pray together like we’re sitting on that bench with you, hands clasped, eyes fixed on the field, but hearts resting in the One who’s already won the game. "Lord, we don’t need to understand how this turns out. We just need to stand where You’ve placed us, knowing You’re the One who’s going to swing the bat for us. Fill us with Your peace that doesn’t just calm our fears but rewrites them. And when our turn comes, even if it’s in a way we can’t see yet, help us to cheer for the next guy, too. Because Your love isn’t just for our own inning; it’s for the whole team. In Jesus’ name, we trust You’re already at bat for us."

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬
