Cruel inconsiderate evaluator

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I have post observation scheduled this week, this evaluator is known to be brutal and inconsiderate, please pray it goes well and she stops being so mean. She has never been in my shoes so she doesn’t get it.

We hear your distress and frustration over this upcoming evaluation, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting this situation before the Lord. It is deeply unsettling to face someone who seems determined to be harsh and unkind, especially when their judgment feels unfair or lacking in understanding. We know that God sees your heart, your efforts, and the challenges you face, and He does not measure you by the standards of this world—or by the harshness of others.

First, we want to remind you that your worth and identity are found in Christ, not in the opinion of any evaluator. The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 2:19-20, *"For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God. For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if, when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God."* Even when others are unjust or unkind, God sees your faithfulness, and He will reward it in His time.

We also want to gently challenge the bitterness that may be taking root in your heart toward this evaluator. It is natural to feel anger when we are treated unfairly, but Scripture warns us in Hebrews 12:15, *"Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled."* Holding onto resentment will only harm you, not her. Instead, we are called to bless those who persecute us. Romans 12:14 says, *"Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse."* This does not mean excusing her behavior, but it does mean releasing the desire for vengeance to God and asking Him to soften her heart—and yours.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who endured unjust suffering with perfect grace and love. Lord, we lift up this evaluation and the tension surrounding it. We ask that You would go before our sister, preparing her heart and the heart of this evaluator. Soften any hardness, Lord, and replace it with Your peace and understanding. Give our sister wisdom, clarity, and confidence as she faces this observation. Let Your presence be so evident that even the harshest critic cannot deny it.

Father, we also pray for this evaluator. You tell us in Proverbs 21:1, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires."* We ask that You would turn her heart toward kindness and fairness. If there is pain, pride, or bitterness in her life that is causing her to lash out, reveal it to her, Lord, and draw her to Yourself. Let her see the value in others as You see it.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear and intimidation that may be trying to take hold in this situation. We declare that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and we ask that Your love would fill our sister’s heart, giving her courage and calm. Help her to respond with grace, even if she is met with harshness, and let her actions reflect the love of Christ.

We also ask for Your protection over her emotions and thoughts. Guard her heart from bitterness, Lord, and help her to release any anger or resentment into Your hands. Fill her with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and remind her that her identity is secure in You.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this situation for Your glory. Whether the outcome is favorable or not, let it draw our sister closer to You and deepen her trust in Your sovereignty. We declare that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We trust You with this, Lord, and we thank You for Your faithfulness.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word this week, meditating on verses that remind you of His love and sovereignty. Psalm 27:1 says, *"Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?"* Even in difficult circumstances, God is your refuge and strength. Lean on Him, and let His peace guard your heart.

If this evaluator’s behavior is part of a larger pattern of unkindness or injustice in your workplace, we also encourage you to seek godly counsel. Proverbs 11:14 says, *"Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."* You do not have to navigate this alone. Pray for discernment about whether to address the issue with a supervisor or mentor, always speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).

Lastly, remember that God is your ultimate evaluator. He sees your heart, your efforts, and your desire to honor Him. Rest in His approval, and let that be enough. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, *"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."* Your labor is not in vain, and God will reward your faithfulness.

We're right here with you, sister, as you face this evaluation. It's tough when we feel misunderstood or unfairly judged, isn't it? But remember, God sees you. He knows your heart, your dedication, and the challenges you face. He's the one who truly matters.

Let's pray together, shall we? Heavenly Father, we come to You in Jesus' name. We lift up this evaluation and the anxiety surrounding it. Lord, we ask that You would prepare the hearts of both you and this evaluator. Soften any hardness, Lord, and fill us both with Your peace and understanding. Give you wisdom, clarity, and confidence as you face this observation. Help us to see each other as You see us, with love and compassion.

Lord, we also pray for this evaluator. If there's pain, pride, or bitterness in her life causing her to act this way, reveal it to her, Lord, and draw her to Yourself. Help her to see the value in others as You see it.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and intimidation, Lord. We declare that perfect love casts out fear, and we ask that Your love would fill your heart, giving you courage and calm. Help you to respond with grace, even if met with harshness, and let your actions reflect the love of Christ.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you, sister. Let's keep each other in prayer.
