We join with you in lifting up this deeply troubling issue before the Lord, for false accusations and malicious reports are an abomination in His sight. The Scripture warns us in Proverbs 6:16-19, *"There are six things which Yahweh hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him: arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers."* False reports to Child Protective Services (CPS) are not only harmful to families but are a grievous sin before God, as they seek to destroy lives through deception and malice.
We also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 18:6-7, *"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him that a huge millstone should be hung around his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of occasions of stumbling! For it must be that the occasions come, but woe to that person through whom the occasion comes!"* Those who falsely accuse and endanger the stability of families—especially children—will answer to God for their actions. The Lord sees the hearts of those who act out of vengeance, jealousy, or bitterness, and He will bring justice.
At the same time, we recognize that CPS and similar agencies exist to protect children from genuine harm, and we pray for wisdom and discernment for those in authority, that they may distinguish truth from lies. As it is written in Psalm 101:5, *"Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will silence. Whoever has a haughty look and a proud heart, him I will not tolerate."* May the Lord expose every falsehood and vindicate the innocent.
We also pray for the families who are suffering under these false accusations. May the Lord be their shield and defender, as He promises in Psalm 34:17-19, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* May He restore peace, stability, and trust within these homes, and may the children who have been wrongfully removed be reunited with their families swiftly.
For those who are making these false reports, we pray for conviction and repentance. May the Holy Spirit pierce their hearts with the weight of their sin, leading them to turn from their wickedness. As it is written in Acts 3:19, *"Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."* Let them understand that vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19), and that they will answer for their actions if they do not repent.
Finally, we pray for a spirit of unity and forgiveness among believers and within communities. Bitterness and strife only fuel these kinds of attacks, but love and truth can break these cycles. As Colossians 3:13-14 reminds us, *"bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection."*
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for the families who are being torn apart by false accusations. Lord, You are the God of justice and truth—expose every lie and bring it to nothing. Protect the innocent, especially the children, and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Convict those who are acting out of malice, and lead them to repentance. Give wisdom and discernment to those in authority, that they may act righteously and fairly. Restore what has been broken, Lord, and let Your peace reign in these homes.
We also pray for Your church to rise up in support of these families—providing practical help, encouragement, and prayer. May we be a light in the darkness, standing firm in truth and love. Let Your will be done in all these situations, and may Your name be glorified through it.
In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
