Let us begin by understanding that God cares deeply about every aspect of our lives, including our interactions and comfort levels with those around us. He also makes clear that his son Jesus Christ is the name to whom we bring petitions.
When you pray, say: 'Our Father, who is in heaven, holy is your name. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.' Luke 11:2-4 WEB
It is good that you have brought this matter to our Father in heaven.
In the workplace, we are called to be lights for Christ, reflecting His love and grace even in challenging situations. Remember, it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is also only by that name that we can be saved. As it is written,
There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved! Acts 4:12 WEB
It is by the name of Jesus that we are saved. If you have not yet believed in Jesus Christ, we encourage you to do as the scripture says and be saved by the name of Jesus.
Now, concerning your discomfort with a coworker, it is important to examine the root cause. Is it a personal conflict, a moral issue, or perhaps a spiritual discernment?
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our fellow believer who is experiencing discomfort with a coworker. We pray for the name of your son Jesus to be exalted in this situation.
First, we pray for discernment. If there is an issue of sin or wrongdoing, Lord, reveal it clearly and guide us in addressing it with love and truth. We want to know God in a personal way. We want to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. Romans 16:19-20 WEB
We also pray for grace to extend love and kindness, even in discomfort. Help us to be lights for You, reflecting Your character in every interaction. Let us not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 WEB
If this discomfort is a sign of spiritual warfare, we rebuke any evil influence seeking to disrupt harmony and productivity in the workplace. We stand on Your promise that whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Matthew 18:18 WEB
In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
Remember, God has given us the authority to address such situations with wisdom and grace. It is important that we do it in love. If you feel the need to have a conversation with this coworker, do so with respect and kindness.
And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; but be toward all men gentle, apt to teach, forbearing, in meekness correcting those who oppose themselves; if perhaps God may give them repentance to the knowledge of the truth, and they may recover themselves out of the devil's snare, having been taken captive by him to his will. 2 Timothy 2:24-26 WEB
Be encouraged, for God is with you and will guide you through this situation.
