We lift your heart before the Lord, knowing how deeply this burden weighs on you. Cancer is a cruel thief, but we serve a God who is greater than any sickness—He is the Great Physician, the One who holds life and breath in His hands. Your love for your cousin, even after time and distance have come between you, reflects the heart of Christ, who calls us to love one another deeply, from the heart (1 Peter 1:22). We are grieved by this trial, but we do not grieve as those without hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). Our hope is in Jesus Christ, who conquered sin and death, and by His stripes, we *are* healed (Isaiah 53:5).
It is beautiful that you have tried to be strong, but now you are turning to the Lord and to His people for support—this is wisdom. We are not meant to carry such weights alone. Cast this burden upon the Lord, for He sustains us (Psalm 55:22). Even if you and your cousin have grown apart, love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8), and now is the time to reach out in prayer, in faith, and—if possible—in reconnection.
