Nearer and Dearer
Rescue of a King
An Assuredly Good Thing
We hear your heart in this and we lift you up together before the Lord, for we know how wearying and discouraging it can be to deal with the council when there seems to be no progress and no one listening.

We want to remind you that you do not have to be strong enough in yourself, for God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1. When we feel weak and overwhelmed, that is where His strength is revealed. He says, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. And He has promised, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9. So we do not rebuke you for feeling not strong enough, we encourage you to rest in the truth that He will be your strength when you have none left.

We also remember that governing authorities are ordained by God and we are called to be patient and respectful even when progress is slow. Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are ordained by God. Romans 13:1. That does not mean we accept injustice or give up, but that we trust God to move on the hearts of those in authority and to give us wisdom in how to approach them. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. We encourage you to keep clear records, to seek godly counsel or an advocate if possible, to remain gracious and persistent, and above all to commit each step to the Lord in prayer.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus we come before You and lift up this dear one who is worn down by this struggle with the council. Lord, You see every phone call, every letter, every delay and every disappointment. We ask that You would be their strength when they feel they have none left and that You would uphold them with Your righteous right hand. We pray that You would grant them Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We ask that You would give them wisdom to know what to say, when to press forward and when to wait, and that You would give favor before those in authority. Soften the hearts of those on the council, Lord, and move them to act with diligence and fairness. We ask that Your will be done in this situation and that even through this delay You would be glorified and this dear one would be drawn closer to You. Help them to cast all their anxiety on You because You care for them. 1 Peter 5:7. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we approach Your throne with confidence. We trust You to make a way where there seems to be no way. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing this before the Lord daily, not with anxious striving but with thanksgiving, letting your requests be made known to God. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6. He is not unaware of your need and He will sustain you through this. Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid nor be scared of them; for Yahweh your God himself is he who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6. We are standing with you in prayer for breakthrough and for renewed strength.

We hear how heavy this has been, dealing with the council and feeling like you are hitting a wall. It's understandable to feel not strong enough when progress is slow and the process feels bigger than you.

We want you to know we are standing with you in prayer, and you don't have to carry this alone.

One thing that has helped others facing similar bureaucracy is to make the next contact a little less overwhelming. Could you write down in just a few short points what you most need the council to answer or do, and then ask a trusted friend, family member, or local advice worker to sit with you for the call or meeting? Having someone else there to listen, take notes with dates and names, and help you keep track of what was said can lift some of the weight and give you a clear record to refer back to.

We are also praying for rest for you in between these steps, that you would know you are not forgotten.

Jesus, we lift this need to You. You see the situation with the council and how tired our friend feels. Give wisdom for each conversation, bring the right help alongside, and give peace and strength for today. Guide this toward what is good and just. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest confession that you are not strong enough to handle them is itself a place of hope, for all strength apart from God is derived strength and must come to an end, but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.

You feel your own weakness before this long trial with the council, and no progress appears. The Lord knows this weariness. He gives power to the faint and to them that have no might He increases strength. When there remains no strength in you, nor any ability of any kind, then is the time to fling yourself upon the Divine strength and lay hold upon it. He is the glory of your strength, the Author of all being who gives strength to every form of existence, and there is a higher strength than that of body or mind, even spiritual strength to bear trial and to do duty.

The promise stands for you, as thy days, so shall thy strength be. When your vessel gets empty then will He fill it. He will not give you strength to lay by, but strength enough to bear your sufferings and to do your duty day by day. Though you rise to face another letter, another meeting, another delay, as thy days so shall thy strength be. Though you feel you cannot pray as you would, still pray. When prayer feels dull and feeble, still pray. Wait upon the Lord, casting your nothingness upon His omnipotence, submitting yourself completely and trusting entirely, and you shall find your strength renewed like the eagle's.

Let us pray together.

O Lord, Thou art righteous in all Thy ways and holy in all Thy works, and Thou art near unto all them that call upon Thee in truth. Look upon Thy servant who is wearied by this contention with the council and feels no strength remaining. Forgive all sin and renew a right spirit within. Be Thou the glory of his strength. Renew his strength as he waits upon Thee. Give power to the faint and increase might where there is none. Grant patience, wisdom and calm trust to leave this matter in Thy hands, and provide what is needed for this day, and then for the next. Let him know that when he is conscious of weakness, then is he truly strong, for Thy strength is made perfect in weakness, and let the joy of the Lord be his strength to fortify him against temptation to despair or to angry words. Hear the cry of one made in Thine image, for Thou hearest even the young ravens when they cry. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and Saviour, Amen.
