We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for healing from COPD and its many afflictions—voice box, throat, laryngitis, lungs, nodules, sinuses, chest, and the arm pain caused by lumps. Father, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who knits us together in our mother’s womb and numbers every hair on our head. Your Word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases."* We stand on this promise, believing that You are able to restore what has been broken and bring wholeness where there is weakness.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy in this precious life. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, healing has already been provided (Isaiah 53:5). We speak life over these lungs, commanding them to function as You designed. We release Your healing power over the voice box and throat, that they may be strengthened and restored. We bind the inflammation, the nodules, and the pain, declaring that they have no place in this body. We pray for the sinuses and chest to be cleared and for the lumps in the arm to dissolve without trace of cancer, for You are the God who turns mourning into dancing and removes our sackcloth to clothe us with joy (Psalm 30:11).
Father, we also ask that You would comfort and sustain through this trial. COPD can be a heavy burden, but we know that Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Strengthen the faith of the one carrying this diagnosis, reminding them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also lift up the spiritual condition of this request. If there has been any unconfessed sin, any bitterness, or unforgiveness that may be hindering healing, we ask that You reveal it and bring repentance. James 5:16 tells us, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."* We pray for a heart that is fully surrendered to You, trusting in Your timing and Your will.
And Lord, we must address the mention of "Amen" at the close of this request. While we appreciate the sincerity of the prayer, we want to gently remind that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). If the one submitting this request does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. May they confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, for it is with the heart that one believes and is justified, and with the mouth that one confesses and is saved (Romans 10:9-10).
So we pray now, in the mighty name of Jesus:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your love and Your mercy. We thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We come before You now, asking for complete healing in every area affected by COPD. Touch the lungs, the throat, the voice box, and every part of this body that is weak or diseased. We declare that no weapon formed against this life shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life, health, and restoration over every cell, every organ, and every system. We rebuke the spirit of fear and infirmity, and we release Your peace and Your power to flow through this body like a river.
Lord, we also pray for the emotional and spiritual healing that is needed. Fill this life with Your joy, Your hope, and Your strength. Remind them that they are not alone, for You are with them always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). Give them the grace to endure and the faith to believe for Your best. We ask that You would surround them with a community of believers who will stand in the gap, pray without ceasing, and encourage them in their walk with You.
And Father, if there is any area of this life that is not aligned with Your will, we ask that You would reveal it. Bring conviction where it is needed, and lead them into repentance and restoration. We pray that they would draw near to You, and that You would draw near to them (James 4:8). May they experience the fullness of Your love and the power of Your resurrection.
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. We thank You that You are working even now, even when we cannot see it. We trust in Your promises, and we declare that this is the day of salvation, healing, and breakthrough. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
