We understand that you are seeking prayer and healing for your relationship. Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power of prayer and the name of Jesus, as it is written, "For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" .Acts4:12WEB
However, we want to lovingly remind you that the Bible teaches us to flee from sexual immorality and that the unmarried should seek a spouse, not merely a relationship .1Cor7:1-2. Therefore, we encourage you both to pursue a committed, godly marriage if you are not already married. The sanctity and permanence of marriage is a testimony of God's covenant-keeping love and the union Christ has with His church.
We also need to address that the Bible tells us that we must forgive as we have been forgiven. Eph4:32WEB. Holding onto hurt and offense will only cause bitterness to take root in your heart. Heb12:15WEB. Instead, choose to forgive and love as Christ loved us. Eph5:2WEB.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, seeking Your healing and restoration for this relationship. We know that You desire for us to be in loving, committed marriages that reflect Your love for Your church.
Lord, we ask that You would heal the hurts that they have caused each other. Give them the strength to forgive and to let go of the pain and bitterness. Help them to see each other through Your eyes, eyes of love and compassion. Open her heart to be able to receive love, and give them both a vision for a positive future together, growing in Your love and grace.
Lord, we rebuke the enemy of their souls and ask You to free them from all bondage and strongholds. We speak life and healing into this situation.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you both to seek God's will for your lives individually and as a couple. Spend time in His Word, pray together, and surround yourselves with a community of believers who can support and encourage you. If you are not already married, we strongly encourage you to consider a covenant marriage.
