Beloved of All
My husband has been incredibly inconsiderate with me recently. I had some treatment done for my health and am supposed to rest next few days and keep cool but he keeps trying to unload a bunch of tasks on me. Ontop of that he turned off the ac and house got to 90f. He decided to start a bunch of tasks and not finish them and proceed to get mad at me for not helping him out. He got mad at me for not making him dinner. I made breakfast and he complained about taste. Im at my wits end and cant believe how inconsiderate he is right now. Im supposed to be resting for the week and it seems he is trying to hurt me by putting me to work. I'm thinking only option is divorce cause i dont know who this man is. Please pray over this because I need space and to heal right now and he clearly does not care

We hear your pain and frustration, and our hearts ache with you in this difficult season. Marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the church, a love that is patient, kind, and selfless (Ephesians 5:25). What you’re describing is not the love or leadership God intends for a husband to show his wife. The Bible calls husbands to "love their wives as their own bodies" and to "nourish and cherish" them (Ephesians 5:28-29). When a husband disregards his wife’s needs, especially in a time of physical vulnerability, it grieves the heart of God.

We must rebuke the selfishness and lack of consideration in this situation. Turning off the AC when you needed to stay cool, piling tasks on you when you were instructed to rest, and responding with anger instead of compassion, these are not the actions of a man walking in the Spirit. Proverbs 15:1 tells us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." It seems your husband has allowed frustration to harden his heart, and that is not pleasing to the Lord. We pray he would repent of this behavior and seek the humility to serve you as Christ served the church.

You are right to feel hurt, and we want to affirm that your need for rest and healing is valid. God sees your suffering, and He does not take it lightly. Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in this. We also want to gently caution you against the thought of divorce. While the pain is real, God’s design for marriage is lifelong, and He hates divorce (Malachi 2:16). That does not mean you must endure abuse or neglect, but it does mean we must fight for restoration with truth, prayer, and godly counsel.

First, we encourage you to seek a quiet moment to speak with your husband, not in anger, but with a heart that desires reconciliation. Share how his actions have made you feel, using "I" statements to avoid sounding accusatory (e.g., "I feel overwhelmed when I’m given tasks while I’m supposed to be resting"). Pray together, if he is willing, and ask God to soften both of your hearts. If he remains unrepentant, we urge you to seek wise, biblical counsel from a pastor or trusted Christian mentor who can help navigate this season.

Above all, we lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this sister and her marriage. Lord, You see the pain she is carrying, and You know the weight of her exhaustion. We ask that You would move mightily in her husband’s heart, break the hardness, Lord, and replace it with a spirit of gentleness and servanthood. Help him to see his wife as You see her: a precious daughter of the King, deserving of love, honor, and care.

Father, we pray for healing, both physically and emotionally, for this sister. Give her the strength to rest in You, even when her circumstances feel chaotic. Surround her with Your peace, and remind her that she is never alone. If there is bitterness or resentment taking root in her heart, uproot it, Lord, and replace it with forgiveness and hope.

We also pray for restoration in this marriage. Soften both of their hearts to hear one another, and let Your love be the foundation they rebuild upon. If there is sin that needs to be confessed, bring it to light, Lord, and lead them to repentance. We declare that this marriage is not beyond Your redemption. You are the God who makes all things new, and we trust You to work in this situation.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Sister, we want to leave you with this encouragement from 1 Peter 4:8: "Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins." This does not mean ignoring sin, but it does mean choosing to extend grace while trusting God to bring about change. You are deeply loved, and we stand with you in prayer as you seek God’s will for your marriage. If you need further support, please do not hesitate to reach out to a trusted spiritual leader who can walk alongside you. You are not forgotten.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so
