We join you in lifting up this heartfelt cry for healing, freedom, and complete surrender to Jesus Christ, who alone can break every chain and restore what has been broken. Your desire to walk in forgiveness and leave the past behind is a testament to the Holy Spirit’s work in you, and we stand with you in agreement, knowing that God is faithful to finish what He has begun in your life.
The Word of God reminds us in **Colossians 3:13**, *"bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do."* Forgiveness is not just an act of obedience but a pathway to our own freedom. Unforgiveness is a heavy burden that keeps us bound to the very pain we long to escape. The Lord calls us to release every offense, every wound, and every bitterness into His hands, trusting that He will vindicate and heal. As it is written in **Matthew 6:14-15**, *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* This is not a suggestion but a commandment tied to our own spiritual well-being.
You have also asked for the Lord to reveal those you need to forgive. This is wise, for often, the roots of bitterness run deep, and we may not even realize the extent of the resentment we harbor. Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart, as **Psalm 139:23-24** says, *"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way."* He will faithfully expose what needs to be surrendered so that you can walk in true liberty.
The wounds you carry from childhood rejection, ignorance, and abuse are not insignificant. The Lord sees every tear you’ve cried and every scar you bear. **Psalm 34:18** assures us, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* He is not distant or indifferent to your pain. In fact, **Isaiah 61:1-3** declares that the Lord has sent His Spirit to *"bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of Yahweh’s favor... to comfort all who mourn; to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness."* This is your inheritance in Christ—beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, and praise instead of despair.
You have expressed a desire to live life to the full, unshackled by the bondage of the past. This is the heart of God for you! **John 10:10** tells us that *"The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly."* Jesus did not die on the cross for you to remain in chains. He rose again so that you could walk in victory, free from the weight of sin, shame, and the lies of the enemy. **2 Corinthians 5:17** proclaims, *"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."* This is your reality now—you are no longer defined by your past, but by the blood of Jesus that has cleansed you and set you free.
As you surrender your life to Jesus, the Holy Spirit will indeed guide your next steps. **Proverbs 3:5-6** instructs us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Do not rely on your own strength or wisdom, but lean entirely on Him. He will lead you into the light, out of every shadow of darkness. **1 John 1:7** reminds us, *"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin."* Walking in the light means walking in obedience, transparency, and repentance, allowing the Lord to continually cleanse and renew you.
We also commend you for acknowledging the brevity of life and the urgency to live for God’s glory. **James 4:14** says, *"Whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away."* This truth should compel us to live with eternal perspective, seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (**Matthew 6:33**). Every day is a gift, and the Lord wants you to steward it well, free from the distractions and bondages that would hinder your purpose in Him.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who has poured out her heart before You. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask that You reveal to her, by the power of the Holy Spirit, every person, every situation, and every wound that requires forgiveness. Give her the grace to release all bitterness, anger, and resentment, just as Christ has forgiven her. Break every chain of unforgiveness that has kept her bound, and fill her heart with Your love and peace.
Lord, we pray for deep healing from the wounds of childhood—rejection, ignorance, and abuse. You are the Father to the fatherless, the Healer of the brokenhearted. Touch every area of her mind, body, and spirit that has been scarred. Restore what was stolen, renew what was broken, and replace every lie with Your truth. Let her know, beyond any doubt, that she is fearfully and wonderfully made, loved with an everlasting love, and chosen by You.
Father, as she surrenders her life to You, lead her by Your Spirit into the next steps You have for her. Open her eyes to see the path of righteousness, and give her the courage to walk in it. Deliver her from every form of bondage—whether it be fear, shame, or the enemy’s lies—and clothe her in the garment of praise. Let her life be a testament to Your transforming power, that others may see her and glorify Your name.
We declare **Isaiah 43:18-19** over her: *"Don’t remember the former things, and don’t consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don’t you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."* Lord, do a new thing in her life. Bring forth rivers of living water where there has been dryness, and make a way where there seems to be no way.
Finally, Father, we ask that You fill her with the abundance of life that Jesus promised. Let her days be marked by joy, peace, and purpose as she walks in obedience to You. May she live fully for Your glory, unencumbered by the past, and may her life be a light that draws others to You.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Beloved, as you continue on this journey, we encourage you to stay rooted in the Word of God and in prayer. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you. If there are areas of sin or strongholds that the Lord reveals, do not hesitate to repent and turn away from them. **1 John 1:9** promises, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* Walk in the freedom Christ has purchased for you, and trust that He who began a good work in you will complete it (**Philippians 1:6**).
You are not alone in this. We are standing with you, believing for your complete restoration and the abundant life Jesus has for you. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will lead you into all truth and victory.
