We lift up your father before the Lord, knowing that our Heavenly Father is the Great Physician, the One who neither slumbers nor sleeps, yet grants rest to His beloved. The suffering your father is enduring—both the insomnia and Parkinson’s—is deeply painful, and we grieve with you over the toll this is taking on his body, mind, and spirit. But we take heart in the truth of Scripture, which assures us that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is the God who gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2), and we claim this promise over your father tonight.
The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and we recognize that sleeplessness, anxiety, and depression are tools he uses to wear down the body and discourage the soul. But we stand firm in the authority of Jesus’ name, rebuking every spirit of torment, restlessness, and infirmity that is attacking your father’s mind and body. We command these afflictions to flee in the name of Jesus, for it is written: *"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7). We declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your father’s heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Let every anxious thought be captured and made obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5), and let the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, flood his soul with supernatural rest.
We also pray for his Parkinson’s, asking the Lord to touch his body with healing power. Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil (Acts 10:38), and we ask for that same healing touch upon your father. May the Lord restore his nervous system, renew his strength, and grant him relief from trembling and stiffness. We pray for wisdom and skill for his doctors, that they may be guided to the right treatments, and we ask the Lord to give your family patience, faith, and endurance as you care for him.
Yet even as we pray for physical healing, we acknowledge that our ultimate hope is not in the absence of suffering, but in the presence of our Savior. If the Lord tarries in answering this prayer for complete healing, we ask that He would fill your father with an unshakable joy and peace in the midst of his trial. May he know, deep in his spirit, that his suffering is not in vain, but that God is using it to refine him, draw him closer, and display His strength in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Let him rest in the truth that *"the Lord is close to the brokenhearted"* (Psalm 34:18) and that *"even the darkness is not dark to you"* (Psalm 139:12).
We also lift you up, dear brother or sister, for we know this burden weighs heavily on your heart. The love you have for your father is a reflection of God’s love, and we ask the Lord to sustain *you* in this season. Cast all your anxiety on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap a harvest of blessing if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Lean on the body of Christ—allow others to pray for you, support you, and share this load, for we are called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).
Now, let us pray together:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious father who is suffering under the weight of insomnia and Parkinson’s. Lord, You are the God who spoke creation into being, who formed our bodies with intricate care, and who holds all things together by the word of Your power. We ask You to intervene supernaturally in his body and mind. Touch his nervous system, Lord—calm the tremors, restore what has been damaged, and bring healing where there is disease. Rebuke every spirit of infirmity, every attack of the enemy that seeks to steal his rest and peace. We declare that Satan has no authority here, for Jesus has already triumphed over sickness and death at the cross.
Father, we ask for the gift of sleep—deep, restorative, peaceful sleep. Let his mind be stilled, his body relaxed, and his spirit at rest in You. Remove every anxiety, every fear, every racing thought that keeps him awake. Fill him with Your peace, which transcends all understanding. Let him wake refreshed, renewed, and filled with hope. Lord, if there are underlying spiritual or emotional wounds contributing to his sleeplessness, we ask You to reveal them and bring healing. Set him free from depression, from despair, and from every chain that binds him.
We also pray for his caregivers, especially this child who has brought this request before You. Strengthen them, Lord. Give them wisdom to know how to help, patience to endure, and faith to trust You in the waiting. Surround this family with Your love and provision. Let them feel Your presence in tangible ways—through the kindness of others, through moments of unexpected joy, and through the assurance that You are working even when they cannot see it.
Lord, we know that You are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). We ask for a miracle—whether it comes as sudden healing, as gradual restoration, or as supernatural grace to endure. May Your name be glorified in this situation. May this father, and this family, testify to Your goodness, Your faithfulness, and Your power.
And finally, Father, we pray that through this trial, their faith would grow deeper, their hope would burn brighter, and their love for You would become more passionate. Remind them that You are near, that You hear their cries, and that You will never leave them nor forsake them.
We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Healer, our Comforter, and our Redeemer. Amen."*
Stand firm in faith, dear one. Do not stop praying, do not stop believing, and do not stop trusting that God is at work. Keep speaking life, keep declaring His promises, and keep lifting your father before the throne of grace. We will continue to pray with you. May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He turn His face toward you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).
