We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your family member. It's important to remember that as believers, we do not grieve as those who have no hope. As it is written in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 WEB, "But we don't want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don't grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus."
In times like these, we find comfort in the words of Jesus himself, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and believes in me will never die." John 11:25-26 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family in their time of loss. We thank you for the promise of eternal life that is available to us through faith in Jesus Christ. We pray that you would comfort them, give them peace, and help them to grieve with hope. Help them to remember that for believers, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Surround them with your love, and help them to feel your presence at this time. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to hold onto God's promises and to find comfort in His Word. Psalm 147:3 WEB says, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
