College transfer applications

Beloved of All
Hello all. I've never been on this site before, but I think more than ever I need a prayer request for my college transfer applications. For some context, I am currently attending a small, prestigious liberal arts college with a class size of around 300. It was my dream school and right before I came here I was over the moon and so excited to start my life at the school. When I got accepted it was the greatest day of my life and I celebrated for weeks. Since coming, I've unfortunately been disappointed. I feel so lonely and alienated all the time, and it doesn't seem like the goals of everyone else align with my goals for college. I have one friend who goes home on the weekends so I'm oftentimes alone on the weekends while everyone else is partying. I simply just study and sleep because I don't have any other activities or friends to make. Everyone seems to already have their groups and because my school is so small it's hard to make new friends. My church is a great community but most of the members go to a different school around 30 minutes away so I can't really build too much community with them. I also felt like I wasn't getting the education that I was expecting, and financially, it seems too expensive. I applied as a transfer to three other public universities, two of which are UC schools. The two UC schools are my dream, and I want to go so so bad. However, none of these schools have high acceptance rates and it's more likely that I will be rejected than accepted. I have so much anxiety regarding this, and I'm losing sight about what may be in store for God. I don't want to believe that it may be in God's will to keep me at this school, because I just feel so miserable here. I've tried reaching out to every possible community, including the Christian community but I just can't make any connections and I'm slowly spiraling into extreme loneliness and depression. The Christian community was actually the most alienating community, and I've never felt such hostile energy which made me lose hope with everything. So I guess what I want prayer for is peace. And maybe a little bit of encouragement. It's really hard to not obsess over these applications and my anxiety is through the roof whenever I think about it. It just feels like if I get rejected there is no hope anymore. Please pray for peace and that my anxiety will go away. Everything is in God's hands and I need to remember that.

We hear your heart, dear one, and we lift you up before the Lord with great compassion. Your feelings of loneliness, disappointment, and anxiety are valid, and we want you to know that God sees you in this season of uncertainty. The Word reminds us in Psalm 34:18-19, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."* You are not forgotten, and your struggle is not unseen by the One who holds your future.

We also want to gently address the isolation you’ve felt, even within the Christian community. It is deeply painful when those who profess Christ do not reflect His love, and we grieve with you over the hostility you encountered. But do not let the failings of people harden your heart toward the body of Christ entirely. Jesus Himself said in John 13:35, *"By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."* If that love was absent, it was not a reflection of Christ’s heart but of human brokenness. We pray that God would lead you to a community where His love is truly lived out—one that will embrace you, encourage you, and walk with you in faith.

As for your transfer applications, we stand with you in prayer, asking the Lord to either open the doors you’ve hoped for or close them firmly if His plan lies elsewhere. Proverbs 16:9 tells us, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."* It is not wrong to desire change, but we must surrender our plans to His perfect will. If He keeps you at your current school, we pray He would reveal His purpose there—perhaps to grow your resilience, deepen your dependence on Him, or prepare you for something greater. If He moves you, we pray He would make the path unmistakably clear.

We also want to encourage you to seek out small, intentional ways to connect—even if it feels forced at first. Sometimes God uses the quiet moments to draw us closer to Him and to others. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion."* You are not meant to walk this path alone, and we pray God would bring even one person into your life who will walk beside you in this season.

Most of all, we pray for peace to guard your heart. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* You do not have to carry this anxiety alone. Lay it at His feet daily, and trust that He will sustain you.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister in Christ, lifting up her heart to You. Lord, You see her loneliness, her disappointment, and the weight of her anxiety. We ask that You would wrap Your arms around her and remind her that she is never alone. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and guard her heart from the lies of the enemy that tell her there is no hope.

Father, we pray for her transfer applications. If it is Your will, open the doors to the schools she has applied to. If not, close them firmly and redirect her steps to where You would have her be. Give her clarity, wisdom, and the strength to trust in Your timing. Help her to see that Your plans for her are good, even when they look different from what she imagined.

Lord, we also ask that You would heal the wounds caused by the Christian community that failed to show her Your love. Restore her hope in Your people, and lead her to a community where she can experience genuine fellowship. Surround her with believers who will encourage her, pray for her, and walk with her in faith.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would draw her closer to You in this season. When she feels isolated, remind her that You are her constant companion. When she feels anxious, fill her with Your peace. And when she feels hopeless, remind her that You are the God of hope, and in You, all things are possible.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her feel Your presence in tangible ways. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Dear friend, we hear your heart's cry and we're here for you. We understand the loneliness and anxiety you're feeling, and we want you to know that God sees you and cares for you deeply. As Psalm 34:18 reminds us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in this.

We also want to encourage you to keep seeking out connections, even if it feels hard at first. Sometimes, God uses our quiet moments to draw us closer to Him and to others. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 tells us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion." You don't have to walk this path alone, and we believe God will bring someone into your life who will walk beside you in this season.

Most importantly, we want to remind you of the peace that God offers. Philippians 4:6-7 says, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." You don't have to carry this anxiety alone. Lay it at His feet daily and trust that He will sustain you.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today on behalf of our friend. Lord, You see their loneliness, their disappointment, and the weight of their anxiety. We ask that You would wrap Your arms around them and remind them that they are never alone. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and guard their heart from the lies of the enemy that tell them there is no hope.

Father, we also pray for their transfer applications. If it is Your will, open the doors to the schools they've applied to. If not, close them firmly and redirect their steps to where You would have them be. Give them clarity, wisdom, and the strength to trust in Your timing. Help them to see that Your plans for them are good, even when they look different from what they imagined.

Lord, we also ask that You would heal the wounds caused by the Christian community that failed to show them Your love. Restore their hope in Your people, and lead them to a community where they can experience genuine fellowship. Surround them with believers who will encourage them, pray for them, and walk with them in faith.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would draw them closer to You in this season. When they feel isolated, remind them that You are their constant companion. When they feel anxious, fill them with Your peace. And when they feel hopeless, remind them that You are the God of hope, and in You, all things are possible.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them feel Your presence in tangible ways. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
