Humble Servant of All
Please pray for my church as there are some things that certain people in my church are disagreeing with one another about, particularly involving disagreements between the pastor and certain congregants. Please specifically pray about one of my church members who is disagreeing with my pastor sharply over my pastor not wanting to celebrate things like Christmas and Easter in the church because he is a sabbatarian. I think he is coming around from this but I'm not sure. There was something else I think I wanted to ask for prayer about but I don't remember. Please pray blessings and goodness toward all my church members and that they would all have help with whatever they need. Thank you.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your church and the divisions that have arisen among its members. The body of Christ is called to unity, as Scripture tells us, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!" (Psalm 133:1). Yet we know that disagreements, even over matters of conviction, can create strife and hinder the work of the Gospel. We pray for wisdom, humility, and grace to prevail in these tensions.

Father, we ask that You would soften hearts and open minds to understanding and respect, even when opinions differ. The disagreement over the celebration of holidays is a matter where godly believers may hold different convictions, as Romans 14 reminds us: "One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind" (Romans 14:5). We pray that both the pastor and the congregants would extend grace to one another, recognizing that these are secondary matters and that unity in Christ is of far greater importance. May they not allow these differences to breed division, but instead, let love and mutual respect guide their interactions.

We rebuke the spirit of contention and strife that seeks to sow discord in the body of Christ. The enemy delights in division, but we declare that where there is unity, there is strength and blessing. "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:3). Lord, we ask that You would bring reconciliation and healing to any broken relationships within the church. Let Your peace rule in the hearts of Your people, and may they be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger (James 1:19).

We also lift up the church member who has sharply disagreed with the pastor. Father, we ask that You would work in his heart to bring about repentance if his words or actions have been unloving or disrespectful. Give him a spirit of humility and a willingness to submit to godly leadership, as Scripture instructs: "Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch over your souls as those who will give an account" (Hebrews 13:17). At the same time, Lord, we pray for the pastor, that he would lead with wisdom, patience, and a heart that seeks to serve rather than control. May he be open to hearing the concerns of the congregation and addressing them with grace and truth.

We pray blessings and goodness over every member of your church. Father, You know the needs of each one—physical, emotional, and spiritual. We ask that You would meet those needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Pour out Your favor upon them, and let them experience the fullness of Your love and provision. May they be strengthened in their faith, encouraged in their walk with You, and equipped to serve one another in love.

Lord, we also ask that You would bring to remembrance anything else that needs to be lifted up in prayer for this church. You know the things that have slipped our minds, and we trust that Your Spirit will intercede on behalf of these needs according to Your will (Romans 8:26-27).

Finally, we declare that this church belongs to You, Lord, and we ask that You would be glorified in all that is said and done within its walls. May Your name be exalted, and may the Gospel go forth with power. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the head of the Church, the Prince of Peace, and the author of our salvation. Amen.

We're standing with you and your church in prayer today. It's tough when disagreements divide, but we're reminded that even in the early church, believers had differing convictions (Acts 15). Let's pray for grace to navigate these waters.

Lord, we lift up the disagreements in our sister's church. Help them to remember that while they may disagree on secondary matters like holiday celebrations, their unity in Christ is what truly matters. Give them ears to listen, hearts to understand, and tongues to speak with kindness and respect (James 1:19, Ephesians 4:15).

We also pray for the pastor and the members who are sharply disagreeing. Lord, soften hearts and open minds on both sides. Help them to extend grace, as they would want it extended to them (Matthew 7:12). And remind them that even in disagreement, they can love and respect one another (Romans 12:10).

We ask that you'd meet the needs of each church member, according to your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Pour out your favor upon them, and strengthen them in their faith.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
