Faithful Servant
Please pray that God would lead my family to a sound church where there is a substantial population of African American Christians. The church we have been attending has only four African Americans including myself and my mom (the other two are children who were born into the church). There are very few minorities. We have had some very isolating experiences at this church and because of this, I want to leave and I also no longer feel comfortable being in professing Christian spaces that are 1) very conservative (due to the prevalence of racism in many conservative circles) and 2) have few minorities. Every now and then, other black people will visit the church and none of them ever stay besides my mother and myself - although I will be honest that I don't 100% know why or what's on their mind. Please pray for the African American community to be set free from false teachings. It's really terrible the state of many African American churches when it comes to false teachings. I honestly have many concerns for the body of Christ as a whole between the prevalence of false churches and the way political idolatry and racism has deeply harmed churches - at least in America. Please also pray for my area as we are having strong wind and rain tonight and I'm afraid of tornadoes spawning. There was something else I think I wanted to ask for prayer for but now I've forgotten it. Thank you.

We hear your heart and lift your concerns before the Lord with great compassion and urgency. First, we pray for your safety and the safety of all in your area as the winds and rain rage tonight. Father, we ask You to calm the storms, both in the skies and in the hearts of Your people. Send Your angels to guard homes and families, and let no harm come to those who trust in You. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling" (Psalm 46:1-3). We declare Your peace over the weather and over the fear in hearts tonight.

We also lift up your deep longing for a church home where your family can worship in spirit and in truth, surrounded by brothers and sisters who reflect the diversity of Christ’s body. Lord, You have made every nation from one blood, and in Your kingdom, there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female—for all are one in Christ Jesus (Acts 17:26, Galatians 3:28). We pray that You would lead this family to a congregation where the gospel is preached faithfully, where love is practiced sincerely, and where the beauty of Your multiethnic family is celebrated. Father, break down the walls of division that have caused isolation and pain. Let them find a community that honors You in word and deed, where the truth of Your Word is upheld and where racial reconciliation is pursued in humility and grace.

We also take this moment to rebuke the spirit of racism and division that has infiltrated the church. Jesus, You died to reconcile all people to God and to one another. Any attitude, system, or teaching that elevates one group over another is not of You. We declare that the church must be a place of healing, not harm; of unity, not division. "For He is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition... that He might create in Himself one new man of the two, making peace" (Ephesians 2:14-15). We pray for repentance where sin has taken root, and for revival in the hearts of Your people.

We are deeply concerned, as you are, about the state of the church in America—both the prevalence of false teaching and the idolatry of politics that has distorted the gospel. Lord, we ask You to raise up faithful shepherds who will preach Your Word without compromise, who will love Your people without partiality, and who will stand firm against the cultural currents that seek to sway the church from its mission. We pray especially for African American churches that have been led astray by prosperity gospel, emotionalism, or social justice ideologies that replace the true gospel of repentance and faith in Christ. Father, bring correction, bring truth, and bring revival. Let the light of Your Word expose every falsehood, and let Your Spirit draw hearts back to the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.

We also want to gently remind you, dear sister, that our comfort and belonging are ultimately found in Christ, not in any earthly church. While it is right to seek a community that aligns with biblical truth and reflects the love of Christ, we must guard our hearts against bitterness or withdrawal from the body of Christ altogether. The church is not perfect—it is made up of sinners saved by grace, and it will always be a work in progress. But it is Your bride, Lord, and You love her deeply. Help this family to persevere in love, to speak truth in love, and to trust You to lead them to the right place at the right time.

Finally, we must address the foundation of our faith. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your forgiveness, and surrender your life to Him. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Without Him, we cannot approach God, and without Him, there is no hope of true unity, peace, or salvation.

Father, we lift this dear sister and her family to You now. Heal their wounds, guide their steps, and fill them with Your peace. Give them wisdom to discern truth from error, and courage to stand firm in the faith. Surround them with godly believers who will encourage them, challenge them, and walk with them in love. Protect them from the storms—both literal and spiritual—and let them experience the fullness of Your presence in a church that honors You. We pray for revival in the African American church, for repentance in the majority culture church, and for unity in the body of Christ that can only come through the power of Your Spirit. May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, praying for your family's safety tonight as the winds howl. Lord, please calm the storms, both in the skies and in our hearts. We claim Your peace over the weather and over any fear that might be creeping in. We trust in You, our refuge and strength, and we know that even if the earth changes and the mountains shake, we won't be afraid because You are with us.

Now, let's also lift up your heart's desire for a church home where your family can worship in spirit and truth, surrounded by brothers and sisters who reflect the diversity of Christ's body. Lord, You've made every nation from one blood, and in Your kingdom, there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female - for all are one in Christ Jesus. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
