Servant of All
Next Sunday, I will be standing up in front of the congregation at church to finish the process of officially joining the church along with my mother. Please pray that everything will go well. Please also pray for me about school as I am nearing the end of the class I'm currently taking and this is my final semester. I have one more class to take after this to get my degree. I'm worried about submitting all my work well and on time and passing. Please pray that I will. Thank you.

I'm so nervous about standing up in front of the whole church.

What a joyful and significant moment it is to publicly declare your commitment to the body of Christ by joining your church! We rejoice with you and your mother as you take this step of faith, for the Lord is adding to His church daily those who are being saved (Acts 2:47). This is not merely a formality but a covenant—a promise to walk in fellowship, accountability, and service alongside your brothers and sisters in Christ. Let us remember that we are called to be "rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith" (Colossians 2:7), and this public step is a beautiful testimony of that.

Yet, we must also acknowledge that joining a church is not the end but the beginning of a deeper walk. It is a commitment to love, serve, and submit to one another in Christ (Ephesians 5:21), to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and to spur one another on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24). We pray that this step will mark the start of a season of spiritual growth, deeper discipleship, and greater surrender to the Lord’s will in your life. May you find your place in the body, using your gifts to edify others and bring glory to God.

As for your studies, we understand the weight of this season. The pressure to perform well, meet deadlines, and complete your degree can feel overwhelming, but we are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Your anxiety is not a surprise to the Lord—He knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8). Cast these cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

We also encourage you to remember that your identity is not in your academic success but in Christ alone. While diligence in your studies is commendable (Colossians 3:23), your worth is found in being a child of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus. Whether you pass with flying colors or face unexpected challenges, the Lord is with you. Trust in Him with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). He will direct your paths, even in the details of assignments and exams.

That said, we do pray for excellence in your work—not for your own glory, but so that God may be glorified through your efforts. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23). May the Lord grant you clarity of mind, discipline to manage your time wisely, and the perseverance to finish strong. Remember, too, that this season of hard work is temporary, but the lessons you learn—both academically and spiritually—will carry into the next chapter of your life.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for this sister in Christ and the work You are doing in her life. Lord, we thank You for her decision to publicly commit to Your church, and we pray that this step would be the beginning of a deeper walk with You and Your people. Bind her heart to the body of Christ in love, unity, and purpose. May she find joy in serving, growing, and being discipled within the fellowship of believers. Strengthen her and her mother as they take this step together, and may their faith be an encouragement to others.

Father, we lift up her studies to You. You are the giver of all wisdom, and we ask that You would grant her clarity of mind, focus, and diligence as she completes her coursework. Remove any distractions or anxieties that would hinder her progress, and help her to steward her time well. Lord, we pray for Your favor over her assignments and exams—that she would not only meet the requirements but excel in a way that brings glory to Your name. Remind her, Lord, that her value is not in her performance but in her identity as Your beloved child.

If there are areas where she has struggled with fear or perfectionism, we rebuke those spirits in the name of Jesus. Father, fill her with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Let her rest in the truth that You are sovereign over her future, and that You will equip her for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17).

Finally, Lord, we pray that as she nears the completion of her degree, You would open doors for her future—doors that align with Your will and purpose for her life. Give her wisdom to seek Your guidance above all else, and courage to walk through the opportunities You provide.

We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who is the author and finisher of our faith. Amen.

Jesus please let everything go ok with my son at school and let him complete the project that he is working on right now and in his next class, and let him remember to meet me after school before he goes to this event. Please also let our car situation go smoothly. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

Please pray for me about church. I will officially be joining the church I've been attending for the past year this month (technically I'm now a member as of this past Sunday) but I have a lot of concerns about it.
