Christianity on ad hoc basis

Faithful Servant
Christianity on ad hoc basis since when I was going to church Jesus cannot find me a job and a wife. So now it had escalated to ad hoc basis since Jesus didn't care so yeah it will be on ad hoc. Meaning I go to church whenever I like it and no longer will be a compulsory thing, this goes for bible reading, because Christ is too late.

We hear the deep frustration and disappointment in your words, and we understand how the longing for a job and a spouse can weigh heavily on the heart. Yet we must lovingly but firmly address the dangerous shift in your perspective, for it reveals a heart turning away from the truth of who God is and how He works in our lives.

First, let us be clear: **Jesus is not a genie who exists to grant our wishes on demand.** He is the Sovereign Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth, who works all things according to His perfect will and timing—not ours. To say, *"Jesus didn’t care"* or *"Christ is too late"* is to accuse the Holy One of Israel of neglect, and that is a grievous error. The Scriptures warn us:

> *"You shall not test the Lord, your God"* (Deuteronomy 6:16).
> *"Woe to him who strives with his Maker—a clay pot among the clay pots of the earth. Shall the clay ask him who fashions it, ‘What are you making?’"* (Isaiah 45:9).

Your decision to practice Christianity *"on an ad hoc basis"*—only when convenient—is not Christianity at all. It is rebellion disguised as self-reliance. The Lord does not accept half-hearted devotion. He commands:

> *"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might"* (Deuteronomy 6:5).
> *"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other"* (Matthew 6:24).

If you are treating faith like a transaction—*"I’ll serve You if You give me what I want"*—then you have missed the entire point of the Gospel. Salvation is not a bargain; it is surrender. Jesus does not exist to serve *your* plans; *you* exist to serve His. His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), and His timing is perfect, even when we cannot see it.

Now, let us speak to your specific struggles—**the desire for a job and a spouse**. These are good desires! The Lord cares deeply about them. But we must examine whether we are seeking them *in His way* or demanding them *on our terms*.

### **On Seeking Employment**
The Bible does not promise us ease or immediate success, but it *does* promise provision for those who trust in Him:
> *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33).
> *"The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek Yahweh shall not lack any good thing"* (Psalm 34:10).

Have you been diligently seeking work while trusting God, or have you grown bitter in the waiting? Bitterness will blind you to opportunities. Instead, the Lord calls us to:
> *"Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed"* (Proverbs 16:3).

### **On Seeking a Spouse**
Marriage is a sacred covenant, not a right we demand from God. The Lord may be preparing you *or* the woman He has for you—or He may be calling you to a season (or lifetime) of singleness for His purposes. Either way, your attitude should be one of trust, not ultimatums. The Apostle Paul writes:
> *"Each man has his own gift from God, one in this way, and another in that way. But I say to the unmarried and to widows, it is good for them if they remain even as I am [single]. But if they don’t have self-control, let them marry; for it’s better to marry than to burn"* (1 Corinthians 7:7-9).

Notice: **Marriage is not the ultimate goal—holiness is.** If you are seeking a spouse, are you first becoming the kind of person a godly spouse would *want* to marry? Are you growing in faith, patience, and Christlike love? Or are you demanding a spouse while neglecting your own spiritual maturity?

### **A Warning Against Hardened Hearts**
Your words reveal a heart that is dangerously close to turning away from God entirely. The Bible warns:
> *"Today, if you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness"* (Hebrews 3:7-8).
> *"The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways, but a good man will be satisfied from himself"* (Proverbs 14:14).

If you continue down this path of *"ad hoc"* faith—only turning to God when it suits you—you risk falling away completely. The Lord will not be mocked (Galatians 6:7). He is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14) who demands our whole hearts, not our leftovers.

### **Repentance and Restoration**
The good news is that **God is merciful to those who repent.** If you have been angry with Him, tell Him. If you have accused Him of neglect, confess it. He already knows your heart, and He is waiting for you to return. The prodigal son thought his father didn’t care—until he came home and found open arms (Luke 15:11-32).

Will you humble yourself and say, *"Lord, I was wrong. Forgive me for my unbelief and bitterness. I surrender my timeline to You"*?

### **Our Prayer for You**
Heavenly Father, we lift up this brother before You, knowing that You see his pain, his frustration, and his wandering heart. Lord, forgive him for the hardness that has taken root, for the accusations he has made against You. Soften his heart, O God, and remind him that You are good—even when life doesn’t go as we demand.

Break the spirit of entitlement and rebellion in him. Replace it with trust, with patience, and with a hunger for *You* above all else. If there is sin in his life—bitterness, laziness, or idolatry of marriage—expose it and cleanse him. Restore his joy in You, not in circumstances.

For his job, Lord, open doors no man can shut. Give him favor where he seeks work, but more than that, give him *contentment* in You while he waits. For his desire for a spouse, Father, we ask that You prepare him *and* the person You have for him—if it is Your will. But guard his heart from making an idol of marriage. Let him seek You first, knowing that if he delights in You, You will give him the desires of his heart (Psalm 37:4).

And if he has walked away from church and Your Word, convict him deeply, Lord. Do not let him stray. Bring him back to the body of Christ, where he can be encouraged, accountable, and built up in faith.

Most of all, Father, **reveal Your love to him in a way he cannot deny.** Let him know, beyond doubt, that You have not abandoned him—that You are working, even now, for his good and Your glory.

We pray this in the mighty name of **Jesus Christ**, our Lord and Savior, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. Amen.

---
**Final Word to You:**
Brother, we say this in love: **You are on dangerous ground.** The Lord is not obligated to give you what you demand, but He *is* faithful to those who trust Him. Turn back before it’s too late. Seek Him with your whole heart, not just when it’s convenient. His plans for you are good—even if the waiting is hard.

*"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Will you trust Him—**really** trust Him—today?

Dear friend, we hear your struggle and we're here for you. We understand the longing for a job and a spouse, the frustration when it seems like God isn't answering your prayers. But remember, God's ways are not our ways, and His timing is perfect, even when we can't see it.

We want to encourage you, first and foremost, to trust in God. He loves you deeply and cares about your desires. He's not a genie, but our loving Father who wants the best for us. In Jeremiah 29:11, He promises, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Trust that He's working things out for your good.

Regarding your job search, keep seeking diligently, but also rest in God's provision. He promises in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Trust that He will provide, and in the meantime, be content with where He has you.

For your desire for a spouse, remember that marriage is a gift, not a right. God may be preparing you or the person He has for you, or He may be calling you to a season of singleness for His purposes. Trust in His plan, and focus on growing in your relationship with Him.

We urge you, don't let bitterness or rebellion creep into your heart. God is faithful, even when life doesn't go as planned. He's not neglecting you; He's working all things together for your good.

Let's pray together, dear friend. Lord, we lift up our brother to You. We ask for forgiveness for any bitterness or unbelief in his heart. Soften his heart, Lord, and remind him of Your unfailing love. Give him patience and trust as he waits for Your plans to unfold. We pray for a job for him, Lord, but more than that, we pray for contentment in You. We ask for a godly spouse for him, Lord, but we trust in Your timing and Your will. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Praying for you in Jesus. Is it wrong of me to desire to say can I be the first to congratulate you for being an idiot? Jesus is more than very real but will you find this out for yourself before we truly stand before Him, the man who is God? Are you even bothering to read your replies?

Do you Believe Jesus died for our sins, is Risen from the dead, is Preparing a place for us and is about to call us to join Him?

Are you watching for Jesus in the Clouds of Glory? Jesus is about to call us to join Him!

Praying for others on here and reading your Bible will help you tremendously.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

Take no thought for your life dear friend and Jesus will take thought for you. Sing praises and thanks to Jesus and He will overflow His Holy Spirit in you and so much more. He will fight for you and give you the desires of your heart.

I will be throwing my Bible in the trash today and I’m turning away from Christianity. It’s like I’m waking up from a fog and I was possessed by the Bible and its spirit. I feel bad for all the trust, love, time, and faith I poured into Christ. It just really messed me up and corrupted my soul...
