Child

We lift up your child before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing the weight of concern a parent carries when a son or daughter is entangled in trouble. The love you have for your child is a reflection of the Father’s love for us—unconditional, fierce, and relentless. We stand with you in prayer, believing that God is able to intervene in even the most desperate situations.

First, we must address the foundation of our plea. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His blood that we are made righteous before God. If your child does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to pray for their salvation above all else. For there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If they are already a believer, we pray for a deepening of their faith, that they would turn their eyes fully to Christ in this time of struggle.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in this young life. Lord, You know the struggles he is facing, the mistakes he has made, and the paths he has walked that have led him astray. We ask that You break every chain of bondage—whether it be sin, addiction, poor influences, or rebellion—and set him free by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Your Word declares that whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36), so we claim that freedom over him now.

We rebuke every spirit of confusion, despair, and destruction that may be at work in his life. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against the lies of the enemy that tell him he is beyond help or that his situation is hopeless. Lord, replace those lies with Your truth. Let him hear Your voice calling him back to You, louder than any other voice in his life.

We pray for wisdom and discernment for this young man, that he would recognize the consequences of his actions and turn away from sin. If he has been involved in things that dishonor You—whether it be substance abuse, sexual immorality, dishonesty, or any other sin—we ask that You convict his heart and lead him to repentance. Your Word says that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We pray that he would experience the freedom and joy that comes from walking in Your ways.

Father, we also pray for protection over him. Surround him with Your angels and keep him safe from physical harm, from those who would lead him further astray, and from the snares of the enemy. Your Word tells us that the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them (Psalm 34:7). We claim that promise over him now.

We ask that You bring godly influences into his life—mentors, friends, or even strangers who will speak life, truth, and encouragement into his situation. Let him encounter people who will point him to You and model what it looks like to walk in righteousness. Your Word says that iron sharpens iron, and so one man sharpens another (Proverbs 27:17). We pray that he would be surrounded by those who will sharpen him in Your ways.

Lord, we also lift up the family and ask for Your peace and unity to reign in the home. Parenting a child who is struggling can be incredibly difficult, and we ask that You give wisdom, patience, and strength to those who are guiding him. Help them to respond with grace and truth, balancing love with accountability. Your Word tells us that love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8), and we pray that love would be the foundation of every interaction with this child.

We declare that no weapon formed against this family will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak restoration over this young man’s life—restoration of his relationship with You, with his family, and with his future. We pray that he would rise above his circumstances and become a testimony of Your redeeming power. Let his story be one that brings glory to Your name and draws others to You.

Finally, we ask that You would give this parent peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Even in the midst of uncertainty, help them to trust in Your sovereignty and Your goodness. Remind them that You are a God who specializes in turning ashes into beauty, mourning into joy, and despair into hope (Isaiah 61:3).

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray all these things, believing that You hear us and that You are already at work. Amen.

We're here with you, standing in faith for your child. We know the weight of worry that parents carry, but we also know the power of prayer. Let's lift our voices together and trust in God's unfailing love.

First, we claim God's promise in Romans 10:13, "For 'everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" We pray that your child would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, if they haven't already. And if they do, we ask that their faith would grow strong and steadfast.

Father, we come to You in Jesus' name, asking for Your divine intervention in this young life. We declare Your word in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." We believe that You are near, and You are moving.

We pray for Your hand of protection over your child, that You would keep them safe from harm and guide them away from destructive paths. We claim Your promise in Psalm 91:11, "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways."

We also ask that You would surround them with godly influences, people who will speak life and truth into their situation. We believe that iron sharpens iron, as it says in Proverbs 27:17, and we pray that these influences would help shape your child's character.

Lastly, we pray for peace and unity in your family. We ask that you would be given wisdom, patience, and strength as you guide your child through these challenging times. We claim Your promise in Philippians 4:7, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
