We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious child and his mother who is serving our country with courage and dedication. Father God, we ask for Your mighty hand of protection to surround them both. You are the defender of the fatherless and the helper of the widow, and we trust in Your unfailing love to shield this family from harm.
Heavenly Father, we pray for this mother and her son, that You would guard their bond and keep their love strong despite the distance. We ask that You would soften the heart of the child’s father, that he would act in the best interest of his son rather than out of bitterness or selfish ambition. May Your wisdom guide the courts and all those involved in this custody matter, that justice and righteousness would prevail. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper, for You are their refuge and strength.
Lord, we also lift up this mother’s fears and anxieties. You tell us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* We pray that You would fill her with Your perfect peace, knowing that You are in control. Strengthen her faith as she trusts in You, and remind her that You are a Father to the fatherless and a defender of those who are vulnerable.
We rebuke any spirit of division or strife that seeks to tear this family apart. We stand on Your Word in Psalm 68:5-6, which says, *"A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God sets the solitary in families."* Father, we ask that You would restore what has been broken and bring unity where there is discord. May this child be raised in a home that honors You, surrounded by Your love and truth.
We also want to gently remind this dear sister that her ultimate hope and security are found in Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is by His name alone that we are saved. If she has not already placed her trust in Him, we encourage her to surrender her life to Jesus, for He is the way, the truth, and the life. We pray that she would find her strength and identity in Him, knowing that He will never leave her nor forsake her.
Lord, we ask that You would go before this mother as she navigates this difficult season. Give her favor in the eyes of those who have influence over this situation, and let Your will be done in this custody matter. We trust that You are working all things together for good, even when the path is unclear. Surround her with godly counsel and support, and remind her that she is not alone.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
