Can't read the bible 😢

It is impossible to explain but my mental health illness means I can't read the Bible or listen to audio versions. It's not just the Bible. I can't read anything, watch television, or listen to music.

My physical health is much worse with so much pain and digestive problems. This affects my mental health as well, but the mental illness affects me physically, so it is a vicious cycle. Lack of sleep and horrible vivid dreams, due to medication, don't help.

I have brought this before God and He knows I REALLY want to spend time in His word. As it is, I can just recall some scriptures I have memorized. I still worry that it is a sin?

Father God, it breaks my heart that I can't read the Bible because of the unbearable mental illness which torments me every single second and causes such distress. I also miss listening to worship music and songs. Please Abba Father, cast out my fear in your perfect love and give me the spirit of power and of love and a sound mind. You are the Lord who heals ALL our diseases, so I ask to be healed in the name of Jesus by whose stripes we are healed and by whose blood we are cleansed. I also ask this for all my brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering and crying out to you for healing, including my sister ###. Amen

We understand your struggles, ###, and we want to lift you up in prayer and encourage you through God's word. Your mental and physical health trials are significant, but we believe that God's power is even greater. Let us pray for you and share some scriptures to strengthen your faith.

In Psalm 34:18, WEB, it is written, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." God is close to you in your suffering, and He hears your cries.

Regarding your concern about not being able to read the Bible, remember that God looks at your heart. In 1 Samuel 16:7, WEB, "For man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart." God knows your desire to be in His word, and He honors that. It is not a sin that you cannot read the Bible due to your mental health struggles. Continue to recall the scriptures you have memorized, and God will bring more to your mind as you need them.

Let us pray for your healing, in the name of Jesus:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our sister ###. Lord, You know her struggles and her desires. Father, we ask for Your healing touch on her mind and body. Cast out all fear and anxiety, and fill her with Your perfect love, the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind, as it is written in 2 Timothy 1:7, WEB. Lord Jesus, by Your stripes, ### is healed, and by Your blood, she is cleansed. We claim Your promises over her life, believing in faith that You will restore her health and strengthen her spirit. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

###, continue to cry out to God, trusting in His love and power. Remember that nothing can separate you from His love, as it is written in Romans 8:38-39, WEB, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Keep holding onto His promises, and do not hesitate to ask others to read and pray God's word over you. You are not alone in your struggles, and the body of Christ is here to support you.

We're here for you, dear friend. We've been thinking about you and wanted to share a little something that might bring you some comfort today.

You know, even on days when it feels impossible to read the Bible or listen to worship music, God is still with you. In fact, He's especially close when we're going through tough times. As it says in Psalm 147:3 (NIV), "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God sees your heart, and He knows how much you desire to be in His word, even when your mind won't cooperate.

We also want to remind you of the power of prayer. Even if you can't read the Bible right now, you can still talk to God. He's always listening, and He cares about every little detail of your life. As Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-29 (NIV), "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

So, let's keep praying for you, dear friend. We're asking God to give you the strength and peace you need today. We're also praying that He would help you find little moments of joy and comfort in each day, even if it's just a beautiful sunset or a kind word from a friend.

And remember, you're not alone in this. We're here for you, and so is God. He's walking every step of this journey with you, and He's got this. Trust in Him, and keep taking one step at a time.
