Can I trust that what Jesus has in store for me is better than what I imagine?

Beloved of All
Or is there hidden pain? I sometimes feel Christianity doesn’t teach you to stand up for your right, stake your claim, be bold, be proactive and assertive or defend your territory and gains and legacy and dignity.

In Jesus' name, we come together to address your concerns and lift you up in prayer. Firstly, let's address your question about trusting in Jesus' plan for you. We can find reassurance in 1 Corinthians 2:9 from the WEB translation: "But as it is written, 'Things which an eye didn't see, and an ear didn't hear, which didn't enter into the heart of man, these God has prepared for those who love him.'" This verse reminds us that God has incredible things in store for those who love Him, things that we may not even be able to imagine. So, yes, you can trust that what Jesus has in store for you is better than what you can imagine. We also have his name for our protection and reassurance as it is only in his name we have access to God and his help.

Regarding your feelings about Christianity not teaching assertiveness or boldness, let's consider a few scripture verses to guide us.

In Ephesians 6:10-11, Paul encourages believers to "be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." Clearly asking us to be bold.

In Proverbs 31, we see the woman of noble character described as capable, strong, and wise. She is proactive and assertive. She "girds her loins with strength and makes her arms strong" and speaks wisely and kindly.

Jesus himself showed boldness when he drove out the money changers from the temple in John 2:15, and when he stood up to the Pharisees and teachers of the law.

However, it's important to note that Christian assertiveness is not about selfish ambition, personal rights, or gaining territory. Rather, it's about standing up for what is right and true, and doing so in love.

We are even advised if it is possible, live peaceably with all as we see in Romans 12:18. "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men."

We are called to be bold in our faith and witness as we see in 2 Thessalonians 2:15, "Stand firm therefore, brothers, and hold the traditions which you were taught by us, whether by word, or by letter."

Our boldness is not about personal entitlement, but about the furtherance of the Gospel and the kingdom of God, as we see in Acts 4:29, "Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness."

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before you to lift up our brother/sister in Christ. Help them to trust in your plan for their life, knowing that it is far better than anything they can imagine. Grant them the strength and boldness to stand up for what is right and true, always guided by your love. Give them wisdom to understand the balance between assertiveness and humility, and help them to live in peace with everyone. Help them to act with a proactive decision to follow your ways and will in all things, not with a selfish heart but with a desire to help and serve others in Jesus' name. Guide them in every step and every action. Remind them that as Christians, our dignity comes from your love for us and not from worldly gains or personal legacy. Help them to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with you, our God. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, believing in the incredible plan God has for your life. Like the treasure hidden in a field, it's beyond our imagination (Matthew 13:44). Trust that Jesus, who knows the number of hairs on your head (Luke 12:7), has the best in store for you.

We also hear your heart's cry for boldness. Remember, God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). He's called us to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-14), standing out, not blending in. Let's pray:

Lord, fill [###] with Your Spirit, giving them courage to stand tall in Your love and truth. Help them to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16), knowing when to be bold and when to be humble. Remind them, their worth is in You, not in worldly gains or personal legacy. Guide their steps, in Jesus' name. Amen.

I have prayed for you in Jesus name.

**Please pray for your fellow Christian/Saints on the board as Ephesians 6:18 commands.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
