Camp Waitlist

We hear your heart and understand the deep desire you have to attend this dance camp. While we trust in God’s sovereignty over all things, including waitlists and opportunities, we want to lift this request before Him, asking for His will to be done in your life.

First, let us remember that God cares about every detail of our lives, even the desires of our hearts that may seem small in the grand scheme of things. The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:33-34, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient." This reminds us to prioritize God’s will above our own desires and to trust Him with the outcomes.

We also want to encourage you to surrender this situation to the Lord. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Even if the outcome isn’t what you hope for, God can use this season to teach you patience, reliance on Him, and even open doors you haven’t yet considered.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this situation to You, asking for Your will to be done in this young person’s life. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, and we ask that if it aligns with Your plan, You would open the door for them to attend this dance camp. If it is not Your will, we pray You would grant them peace and contentment in Your timing and purpose.

Father, we ask that You would help them to trust in You fully, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Give them patience and faith to wait on You, and help them to seek Your Kingdom above all else.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom for those making decisions about the waitlist. If it is Your will, soften their hearts to see this individual’s passion and desire to grow. But above all, may Your name be glorified in this situation, whatever the outcome.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to remain hopeful but also open to God’s leading. Sometimes what we desire isn’t what God has planned for us, and His plans are always greater than our own. Keep seeking Him, and He will direct your steps. If this camp is meant for you, God will make a way. If not, trust that He has something even better in store.

It’s so hard when something we’ve set our heart on is just out of reach. We know that waiting can feel like a heavy weight, especially when every day you’re hoping for news. You’re allowed to feel that disappointment.

While we can’t promise a certain outcome, we do trust that God cares about the things that matter to you, even the details like a dance camp. So we’re standing with you in prayer, asking for His best in this situation, wherever that leads. In moments like these, sometimes a practical step can also help you feel a little less stuck: you might consider reaching out to the camp to gently reaffirm your interest and ask about the timeline or any updates. That won’t guarantee a spot, but it can bring a bit of clarity and remind you that you’re not just a name on a list.

In the meantime, we’re praying for you to have steady peace. Patience isn’t just gritting your teeth, it’s the quiet confidence that God hasn’t forgotten you, even when the answer feels delayed. We ask Him to guard your heart from discouragement and to fill this waiting season with His presence.

Father, we lift up this child of Yours who longs to attend this dance camp. You see the desire and the waiting. If it’s Your will, please open a door and move them off the waitlist. While they wait, give them restful trust and a deep sense of Your nearness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The very pith of your request lies in that word “desire.” You say you want this camp so badly, and that is where true religion unfolds. For true religion is always a matter of desire, but mark well, it must be a desire to fear God's name. If you do not desire to fear God, you do not fear Him. Therefore I must ask, what is the object of your longing? Is it the dance alone, or the God who sees you in the camp? The Lord thy God walks in the midst of thy camp, therefore shall thy camp be holy, that He see no unclean thing in thee. When thou goest out for a holiday, be holy.

The desire of many is a groveling desire! It is a sinful desire! If this camp beckons thee toward the world’s vanities, thou hast reason to bless the waitlist as a hedge from God. Our Lord suffered outside the camp that thou mightest be sanctified through His blood. Going outside the camp in itself is nothing; it is suffering for the truth of God’s sake that is the truly noble thing. Perhaps even now, being shut out of that camp places thee in very good company, with the great and holy men of years gone by.

Yet if thy desire is a right desire, then delight thyself also in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desire of thy heart. Let it be thy prayer that God will place thee in circumstances wherein thou mayest carry out what thou desirest for His glory. But submit this intensely: let this be the year of acceptance, not of thy will but of His Jubilee, where souls are set free without money and without price. Seek first the camp where Jesus Christ gathers His own, and thou shalt find all other camps rightly ordered or rightly denied.

You mistake the nature of true longing. To desire a camp so intensely that your soul is in torment over a waitlist, this is not the longing of one who seeks first the kingdom. When I hear such words, I recall the rich man who craved a drop of water and found none, for his desires had been set on the wrong feast. What will you gain if you attend?

A fleeting pleasure, perhaps, but if it kindles in you no love for Christ, it is only another chain. Rather than clamoring for a place, examine the desire itself. He who despises worldly amusements quiets the restless heart; he who is inflamed by them only feeds a fire that cannot be put out. I do not say that dancing is in itself damnable, but where does it lead your soul?

If it stirs up vanity or sensual thoughts, flee it as you would a serpent. If it is harmless, still you must hold it with a loose hand. See how the blessed Paul longed to visit the Romans, yet submitted his desire to the will of God, and when delayed, he gave thanks. Do you do the same?

Or do you insist, like a child demanding a toy, that God must grant this? Do not say, “I must settle this first, and then I will think of my soul.” That delay is the beginning of spiritual sloth. Turn your longing heavenward. Desire the wedding feast where Christ is the Bridegroom, and let every earthly wish grow dim beside that.

Pray, not that you escape the waitlist, but that whether in or out, you may learn contentment, humility, and a deeper thirst for the living water. Then you will find that even if the door remains shut, you have lost nothing of true value.
