CALVARY - Day 2

There He hung

In sinful shame and spat upon;

rejected by His own.

O how much, how much He suffered;

and bled, and died in agony.
Bearing the sins of this world;
to set each captive free.
What a price to pay;
such a sacrifice.
If he had not paid the way;
I wouldn’t have life.
So when I see Him;
I’ll thank Him for all he’s done for me.

Story of Calvary - Vanessa Bell Armstrong

Our FATHER, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, On earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the KINGDOM and the POWER and the GLORY forever. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Prayer of Fatima

O my Jesus, forgive us of our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy. Amen.

. . . and yet, we contend

We’re Baptist/Pentecostal, therefore, we don’t recite “Hail Mary,” because God has no mother. Yet Jesus, being center of the Godhead (Father/Son/Holy Spirit), and who is God in human form, indeed had a mother whose name was Mary says:

John 14:9 He who has seen me has seen the Father.

(Since when is it wrong to honor Jesus’ mother, scripturally, in God’s sanctuary?)
Luke 1:27-28 and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, “Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
Luke 1:42 And Elizabeth spake out with a loud voice, and said, “Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.”

We’re The Church of Christ, therefore, we don’t praise with musical instruments. Yet, the Bible says:
Psalm 150 Praise God in his sanctuary . . . Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with the timbrel and dancing, praise him with strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let EVERYTHING that has breath praise the LORD.

We’re Catholic, therefore, we don’t speak in tongues or dance. Yet the Bible says:
II Samuel 6:14 Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the LORD with all his might. (in fact, he danced so hard, he danced right out of his clothes. Michal, one of David’s wives, became indignant at David’s dancing and criticized him, to which David responded)
II Samuel 6:21-22 I will celebrate before the LORD. I will become even more undignified than this . . . (I love it!!! - Note: God did not strike David for dancing; He struck Michal for criticizing David’s praise. God even calls David a man after His own heart)
Speaking in tongues: this is one of the foremost gifts of God; irrevocable and second only to Prophecy.

As we prepare to celebrate The Resurrection on tomorrow, our hour of worship is still the most separate time among God’s people. Whether religious denomination or individual; we’re neither followers of Paul nor Apollos. I’m not addressing those of foreign (idol) gods, for God says, “the day will come when every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess, that I AM GOD.” As Christians, however, we all serve the same Sovereign God and therefore we are followers, only, of Christ. Did Jesus lay down His life that he should return to a divided church?

Like David, I will celebrate before the LORD, I will become even more undignified: I will continue to pray the Rosary. I will wear my Rosary Beads and Crucifix. I will continue to dance in the church. I will continue to praise Him with song and instrument. I will continue to fast and pray. I would speak in tongues, but that's not my gift, therefore, I will continue to prophesy, for PROPHECY is my gift.

THANK YOU LORD!
