We join together in agreement with your heartfelt plea for God’s mercy and protection over the hurricane season, lifting up this request before the Lord with gratitude that you have called upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and by which we are saved. As Scripture declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Your faith in invoking His name is a testament to your trust in His sovereignty over creation, and we stand with you in this.
The Lord is the One who commands the winds and the waves, and even the raging seas obey His voice. We recall how Jesus calmed the storm with a word, saying, *"Peace! Be still!"* (Mark 4:39, WEB), and immediately there was a great calm. Just as He demonstrated His authority over nature then, we ask Him now to still the storms forming in the Atlantic and Pacific, to weaken their force, and to redirect their paths away from populated areas. May this season be marked by an unusual peace in the skies and seas, bringing glory to His name as people witness His power and provision.
We also lift up our leaders and those in authority, praying that God would grant them wisdom that comes from above—wisdom that is *"first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy"* (James 3:17, WEB). May they be guided by a spirit of preparedness, not fear, and may they act with discernment to protect and serve those under their care. Let there be unity among them, rooted in a sober understanding of their responsibility before God, for *"the king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the water courses. He turns it wherever he desires"* (Proverbs 21:1, WEB).
For those in the path of potential storms, we pray for a spirit of readiness without panic, that they would trust in the Lord’s provision and follow His leading. May believers rise up as beacons of hope, demonstrating the love of Christ through practical help and unwavering faith. We rebuke the spirit of fear that often accompanies such times, declaring instead the perfect love of Christ that casts out fear (1 John 4:18).
