We are truly saddened to hear about the circumstances you are facing. Firstly, we commend you for desiring a godly man in your life.
We are commanded in Second Corinthians 6:14 to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? Therefore, it is essential to seek a spouse who shares your faith and values.
Regarding your ex-fiancé, it is important to consider the words of First Corinthians 15:33, "Do not be deceived: 'Bad company corrupts good morals.'" The fact that he was attacked for dating a woman from a different tribe raises concerns about his lifestyle and the company he keeps. Moreover, the fact that he called off your wedding indicates that he may not be fully committed to a godly path.
We urge you to consider the words of Second Timothy 3:1-5, which warns us about the perils of the last days, where people will be "lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, without love of good, traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding a form of godliness, but denying its power." We must turn away from such people.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear sister who finds herself at a crossroads. We pray that you grant her wisdom and discernment as she navigates this difficult situation. Help her to fully surrender her desires and fears to you, trusting in your perfect plan for her life.
We pray that you heal her heart from the pain of her broken engagement and that you guide her steps as she seeks a godly spouse. We ask that you surround her with a community of believers who will support and encourage her in her walk with you.
We also pray for her ex-fiancé, that you would bring him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ if he does not know him. We ask that you protect him and draw him away from any harmful influences.
We are reminded in Romans 8:28 that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Therefore, we trust that this situation will ultimately be used for your glory and for the good of this dear sister.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith and to trust in the Lord's timing and provision. Remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and his thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). He is faithful and will provide a way (First Corinthians 10:13).
Lastly, keep in mind that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach God the Father in prayer (John 14:6).
