We join you in lifting up this prayer request to our Heavenly Father, seeking His forgiveness and guidance. It is wonderful that this request is made in Jesus Christ name as it is only by His name that we are saved.
Firstly, let us address the issue of forgiveness. The Bible tells us in First John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So, let us confess our sins to Him, with a true heart of repentance, and He will forgive us.
Regarding the struggle with overeating, we turn to the words of the Apostle Paul in First Corinthians 10:31, Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. We should strive to glorify God in every aspect of our lives, including our eating habits.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your forgiveness for our sins. We confess them to You, and ask that You cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Lord, we also lift up this struggle with overeating. Help us to have self-control, and to glorify You in all that we do, including our eating habits. Guide us by Your Holy Spirit, and help us to live lives that are pleasing to You. In Jesus Christ name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, beloved, that the Bible tells us in Galatians 5:22-23, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. As we walk in the Spirit, we will bear the fruit of the Spirit, including self-control.
Be encouraged, for God is faithful, and He will help you in this struggle. Trust in Him, and walk in His ways. Stand firm on the word of God in First Corinthians 10:13, No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
